Interesting read. Had no idea more security focused distros were on the horizon. Not surprised, just didn't know.

Not sure what I did to get blocked lol. The original post was asking about converting to Linux. Wasn't like I interjected myself into an unrelated convo. But they likely did me a favor with the block lol.

Since I can't respond to the thread, I thought this was the best way to ask. Apologies if that is incorrect. I did a quick Google and couldn't find anything about the neovim author being milk ducked. Can you please elaborate a little bit @ohnoim.online?

The devs say the decision was driven by regressions in XLibre that remain unfixed, together with the additional maintenance burden the project has created for the distribution: Artix Linux Drops XLibre Support Just Months After Making It Default linuxiac.com/artix-linux-...

I'm HEAVILY considering buying the kobo Clara colour. Anyone use one and have feedback? Or any other recommendations? Also looking at kobo for an ebook store. I see bookshop is possibly moving to kobo, but I love downloading epubs. us.kobobooks.com/products/kob...

Anyone using ARM CPUs with Linux? Im really curious about getting one as they're supposed to have great battery life. Been eyeballing a Lenovo x13s on Ebay lol.

What models are you using for Ollama regarding coding? I have a container with ollama and webui. I was trying qwen3.6 and got tired of arguing with it that systemd_service was a legit ansible module. It seemed to lose context between response in the same chat. Cont'd

A Raspberry Pi can run for months without any issue… until your power cuts at the wrong time. To avoid this (and the corrupt data that usually comes with it), you can use a UPS like the SunFounder Pi Power 5. I’ve got the chance to give it a try;... #raspberrypi #linux

Who can give me a quick overview of a home NAS. I've been looking at them on ebay. What are some must haves, nice to have, and things to look out for? I saw an 8tb drive locally. But was a single drive. So if it went bad I'm shit out of luck. I need redundancy. So likely a raid config?

@lcafiero.bsky.social I'm curious as to which was the favorite distro you reviewed and why? And also the inverse of least favorite and why if you don't mind.

Interesting stances. I don't think either stance is wrong nor right. Too soon to tell how these laws play out. But if enforced, I support the random fake data approach. But I'd rather it not exist at all. We'll see how things play out.

So I've not looked up anything about this full disclosure. But curious about linux/openWRT routers/routing. How do I enable wifi? And telling me to rtfm myself is a perfectly acceptable response whether you're kidding or serious. But don't be a dick about it is all I'm going to say in advance

🅱🅰🅽🅳🅸🆃 @heavilybauxite.bsky.social · 07/03/2026

Now that I have proxmox and keep standing up VMs, manually updating these distros became a chore. So I wrote an Ansible playbook to take care of it for me using gather_facts and when: ansible_os_family == "Distro".

🅱🅰🅽🅳🅸🆃 @heavilybauxite.bsky.social · 11/01/2026

Well proxmox install on hold. The device is wanted to use doesn't have a NIC. So not sure what I'm going to do just yet. Might just get a usb NIC instead of messing around cleaning other devices.

So I'm thinking of repurposing a laptop to setup a ProxMox Hypervisor to setup and configure VMs to learn Terraform and Ansible. I'll try to score some used PIs and other stuff on the cheap to eventually pivot to K8S. Anyone have any better ideas or suggestions for a home lab? Cont'd

I get the joke regarding the year of the Linux desktop and that it never will come to fruition. But by what metric is that based on? Is it based on market share, or some other metric? Or is it just like "I use arch, btw" and has taken on a life of its own to not be quantified? 🤔
