oh I feel this. haven't done much art lately cuz it's been a choice between that or like. yard work. house upkeep. errands. etc etc lol. Glad you've been able to do some lil sketches tho!!

I see so many pro "trans people" post that only includes feminine pronouns and I am very tired. "Wishing trans people a beautiful girly day" or "give a trans person x and she'll thank you forever!" I spent so much time getting rid of what made me "she", don't bring it back. Trans men exist.

Another (sorta) little guy! The prompt was "prehistoric fantasy." I think I succeeded in capturing that.

it makes me so mad that people who committed actual crimes are getting pardoned left and right, and yet thousands of other people are getting deported based on the *possibility* they *might* commit a crime at some point. the rich are truly a plague on society

Always fun when you've got a new DnD character to mess around with

Sometimes it's about the little victories. Like getting to hold a tiny wild bird in your hand, look at it up close in a way you've never gotten to before, and give it a bottle cap full of water to get it back on its feet

Batty @heavenbat.bsky.social · 24/05/2025

Today I rescued a bird from a trailer, so I'll be riding that high for the rest of the weekend

A small brown bird held in a gloved hand. It looks like it's perking up

A small brown bird set on a piece of cardboard on the ground. There is a small cap filled with water next to it. It's much more alert than in the previous two pictures.

for comparison here's my rough concept, just so y'all can see how good Kidlet did at making it look like an actual Transformers design 🤣

000

Batty @heavenbat.bsky.social · 23/05/2025

I made a #Transformers OC with help from @kidlet.bsky.social! She took my very rough concept and made a kickass robot design out of it. She did the base sketch, while I did lineart and color. Anyways here's Raydok the purple cactus lmao. he's an ex-Decepticon #maccaddams

So it's been a lot of fun just making silly little guys, and also I've learned about some really neat plants!! also the community is so nice and helpful 💖 Anyways, the characters shown and the plants they're based on are: Lou- Dark footed Tinypore (mushroom) Shasta- Dragonfruit Quincy- White Poplar

I've always wanted to be in a closed species group, but most of them are so restrictive and also expensive that I never really had a chance. But Nyms are very loose with the rules, which allows for a lot of creative freedom, AND it's possible to get character slots entirely through in-game currency

Batty @heavenbat.bsky.social · 20/05/2025

Some art I've done lately of characters I've made for a closed species group! funky lil guys based on various plants :3 www.nymdrya.com

oh SAME. though for me the part that always freaked me out the most was actually the meadow scene? it was just so tonally discordant that my kid brain went "Something is wrong here and I Don't Like That" lmao. glad you're introducing your kid to the classics tho :D

Colored a comm I got recently from @zerna.bsky.social of my #dnd minotaur rogue Smoke Moon! The lines were really fun to color and I loved all the little details she added :D #dndart

Digital art of a minotaur character. She looks as if she's leaping down from a higher vantage point, drawing a sword as she does so.

Another doodle of Darijja and Ashin! Ashin doesn't understand this strange landdweller custom called "hand holding" but they're not opposed to it. And Darijja's just a romantic sap as usual lol. Ashin belongs to @ushauz.bsky.social ! #dndart #ocart

and, listen, I get it. Sometimes pirate stories can feel kinda similar. But like. you can still come up with original pirate stories without just resorting to ripping off plot points wholesale from Treasure Island/Planet.

000

Batty @heavenbat.bsky.social · 25/12/2024

I am kind of side-eyeing it tho. it feels very.... derivative? A lot of the plot points feel ripped out of other media--specifically Treasure Planet and Peter Pan. Ahsoka had the same problem with ripping off Treasure Planet. Just feels like nothing *new*

Batty @heavenbat.bsky.social · 25/12/2024

I do gotta say tho that I do appreciate the usage of practical effects rather than CGI. Obvs there's still some use of CGI, but it's not overused. They could've easily made Neel be all CGI, but I'm glad that they didn't. love this lil elephant boy

Batty @heavenbat.bsky.social · 25/12/2024

man, while I am enjoying Skeleton Crew, I also have to say it... doesn't really feel like a Star Wars show. It feels like any generic Kids Go On A Wild Adventure Involving Pirates, but make it sci fi. Just kinda feels like they slapped a Star Wars filter on it. still enjoyable, just not Star Wars
