If my apartment building didn't play pop music in the lobby, I would never have heard "Choosin' Texas". And my take on it is: it's fine. Wouldn't have guessed it would be a number one hit, much less 23 weeks and counting worth, but it's fine. Worse things have been huge, so if it's your jam enjoy.

Last night, the Animal Protective League shelter in Springfield, IL had the roofs ripped off both of their buildings by a tornado. Thankfully, all animals & staff are safe, but both buildings are a total loss. Fosters for displaced pets & donations needed! www.instagram.com/p/DZcjW9DlHQ...

A building lies in splintered ruins with pink insulation and particle board strewn everywhere, including up in a shredded tree.

Volunteers work to remove animals from one of the shelter buildings which no longer has a roof. Trees sheared completely off are visible in the background.

Destroyed chain link dog runs are stacked on top of each other from where they were thrown together by the tornado’s vortex.

1. This bright bulb literally gives the wrong number of representatives in his quote - depending on whether you want to give him credit and say he's including the Senate he's either off by 90 or off by 10. 2. "Making noise" is exactly what he's doing. Focused sound can be useful. Noise adds nothing.

Dianna Russini will likely resurface later - maybe in an opinion role rather than reporting. She's talented, but more importantly she's well liked. Reading the replies to this, it's clear everywhere sucks and nothing is good. I've been to most of the named places of any size, and a lot of them are fine. Of bigger cities, St Louis is probably the worst. Mid tier, haven't been to all of them but Albuquerque was pretty bad.
