John Kennedy's rationale in an interview lately was gob smacking. He said that if he feels he can no longer be effective in the senate, he will run for president. So if he isn't meeting the goals in his current job, the obvious solution -to him- is to go for a promotion to a bigger job.

I'm confused. Senators don't set foreign policy or oversee military tactics. The current senate didn't even weigh in on going to war with Iran. Why is a candidate for senator being asked for a war plan/military strategy? Shouldn't they ask "what should the senate do?"

I think people fear that their local government is going to trade something away that once it is gone they'll never get it back. Too many deals were struck in secrecy with NDAs. Too many lies about projected water and energy use. What do we not yet know was traded away without the public's consent?

I Googled information about the author of a book I’m reading. Google’s AI (which I didn’t want to use but hadn’t turned off) unprompted delivered a synopsis of the book. It incorrectly described the major characters in the book. Seems like AI is crap. I miss old fashion search results.

Your repeated reply doesn’t make sense. When my mom was his age, she was in a rehab facility for a month after a stroke. She & the other patients wore soft work out pants (joggers or sweat pants) or PJs because they were mostly in bed or doing therapy. In rehab, jeans are not practical/comfortable.

Really pissed me off that on the Sunday news shows, dems were repeatedly questioned abt what they would do to get Platner off the ballot, overruling Maine voters, over “issues of character” and zero R’s were asked about getting Paxton off the ballot over his issues of character.
