Big long rant about how I feel about the whole 'GTA6 gets to get away from it but an indie would lose everything if they did the same.'

Desperation, it all comes back to the rich and powerful being desperate. The internet, as flawed as it is, is a center of information. Big companies want to consume indie so they can control how information is portrayed through fiction. If it can snuff out the small in order to produce more capital, it will. These censorship laws, discords age verification garbage, bskys age verification garbage. They want to snip off every avenue in which a creative could hope to exist outside of the corporate ecosystem. Its a massive attempt to kill competition, if literally all the better for them. Corpos want to be the king of the mountain and cannot have 'mom and pop make a cool thing with love' even take so much of an inch of their precious precious capital.

The point is to make the smaller creatives feel hopeless and powerless. To exert a world in which the only way you can express is in the rat race that all the other ghouls live in. There are countless people who have likely slaved away to make GTA6 and they want you to be one of those slaves. One of the people they can crunch, consume, devour, and then dump you once you've been useful (firing you). And if you don't want that, these corpos don't care. They will force you to consent.

This is why supporting independent work is important. This is why it's important to fight against censorship bills. Why its important to fight against these bullshit age verification laws. Keep fighting, because this example of hypocrisy, will only increase with time.

cw: venting about being a socially inept wolf sometimes

The worst part about being able to easily connect with other people is that I have a long list of contacts, most of which I don't talk to on the regular if at all. I then try to reach out only to become immensely overwhelmed by the sheer volume of people I like. Unfortunately I also have been ghosted or betrayed enough times to now apparently develop minor trust issues. So usually anxiety is like "gee, its been awhile since this person has reached out to you. They probably forgot about you or never gave a shit about you other than your ability RP somewhat decently." and thus I don't talk to much of anyone nowadays. I pretty much have to mentally pin down the people I want to talk to or I just spiral. It fucking sucks so much. I don't really blame anyone for wanting to leave behind someone like me. It still doesn't make it easier.
