my dog started chasing this baby, red lizard. said lizard got away and jumped up high so she couldn't get it. i looked at said lizard after i brought my dog in, and poor lizard was breathing so hard. it's little chest was going so fast :(

this is the prompt for my poem in my english class. it reads "this week, we are writing an essay about ourselves. if you were to write a poem or paragraph called "my teacher wants to know about my relationship with myself", what would it sound like?" "write at least five sentences or seven or more lines of poetry describing your relationship with yourself"

this is my poem.

"I wake up. I stare at what looks back at me.

The mirror shows me what everyone else sees.

But no one knows what is inside, unless I tell them.

Time will tell how long I have stood, viewing everything that is wrong.

I wake up again. I stare at what looks back at me.

It is like routine.

This time, the mirror shows me a skewed version of myself, one that I do not quite recognize, but I like it.

I do not know whether I am seeing what is true and breaking out of my own mindset, or if my mirror has become distorted.

But each day, I see the way my eyes reflect the light.

Each day, I see how my skin is a direct reflection of how yesterday went.

i put my contacts in the wrong eye and because both my eyes are pretty similar awfulness, i couldn't tell when i first put them in. also far away reading is just a little blurry to the point it's annoying
