Every American should watch tonight's SOTUM speech. (State Of Trump's Unhinged Mind) Take in every lying, boastful, self-serving, derogatory word and realize how contrary to the American values we cherished in past years he is. Contrast what he says with the reality of the past year and remember it.

The SCOTUS has ruled that Trump used illegitimate means to establish his precious tariffs, which are therefore unconstitutional. Rather than accepting their ruling, as any other president would. he vilifies the Court and plans to circumvent their ruling and impose tariffs by other means

Why have Democrats abandoned the fight to restore the subsidies to the Affordable Care Act? Why aren't we including these subsidies as a condition to re-open the government agencies that are now shut down? Were the expected huge increases in health care premiums a hoax?

Does anyone believe that Trump is trying to build these huge detention facilities all across America solely to house migrant detainees? They sound like concentration camps to me. Beware. If you don't protest and put a stop to his gestapo tactics, you may soon be an inhabitant in one of those camps.

The 700-person drawdown by ICE in Minneapolis does not seem to have changed their tactics on the ground. Still violent, still targeting migrants (legitimate and undocumented alike) and citizens, with no regard for criminality. Democrats MUST stand firm, demanding real meaningful reforms.

Rep Comer's insistence on closed hearings to question the Clintons is typical @Republicans obfuscation. He seeks to hide their testimony so he can cherry pick the transcript to make them look bad. Cudos to ex-Rep Greene for supporting Hillary Clinton's demand for transparency.

America, once the shining example of what every other country admired, is now the laughingstock of the world. Alienated from its historical allies, cozying up to its previous foes, we are destroying a world order that has worked to our advantage for the last 80 years. We must change course.

What has America come to? Is this what those who voted for him in 2024 desired? Expected? A masked national police force, mirroring Hitler's gestapo, terrorizing the public, violently suppressing any who dissent and protest. Shooting innocent Americans and vilifying them to justify their actions.

Today's shooting in Minneapolis caps a calamitous week in which the government demonstrated over and over again that they will lie without conscience to cover up the illegal acts of their ICE agents. They are the problem-not the solution. The true solution is immigration reform, not violent removal

Trump supporters follow his lead in distorting the truth, and downright lying, to support the illegal acts of his administration in regard to the Epstein files, Venezuela, migrant control, and other endeavors. He has created a national police force, like Hitler, to carry out his evil agenda.

The current actions of ICE are contrary to the objectives Trump previously stated. Rather than focusing in criminals, Icestapo agents now grab random migrants and even U/S. citizens for detention. Is it any wonder that Ms. Good sought to flee?

Using the power of government to better the lives of the middle class and underprivileged is not Socialist. It's just decent & right! Misusing the power of government to benefit the rich and privileged, those who do not need government assistance, is not Conservative. It is just greedy & wrong!

Two wrongs DO make a right. Gerrymandering is wrong, whenever it is done. Texas is trying to steal additional representation in Congress by redistricting at the expense of minority voters. California and other blue states are threatening to retaliate by following Texas' lead. Fight fire with fire

Sad that these are the only two alternatives stated. NO! Israelis MUST come to their senses and accept the fact that a two-state solution, with an independent and self-sufficient Palestine, is their ONLY viable alternative. Else, they will be an apartheid nation, shunned by the rest of the world.

2. This is a Fascist wannabe regime bent on enriching the already wealthy even more, at the expense of the poor and the middle class. The Big Ugly Bill does it! Tariffs do it! DOGE does it. And by hog-tying all branches of government they will seek to retain power beyond 2026 & 2028.

1. The BrainTrust behind Project2025 have guided Trump, making fighting them very problematic. This is the culmination of a 50-year plot to take control of government, blunt checks and balances, eliminate oversight, smother dissent and implement their toxic wealth-driven agenda. Call it what it is.

2. There were no laws limiting immigration, nor was any documentation of migrants required when the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution. So, birthright citizenship is open to interpretation. SCOTUS could place limits (e.g. parental residency for a time certain) for citizenship to apply.

Pragmatic Progressive @heaintmypres.bsky.social · 01/07/2025
1. The SCOTUS decision does not address the issue of birthright citizenship. It merely limits the scope of application of the rulings of lower court judges, so that they do not affect individuals in other jurisdictions. The issue itself is complex. I will address it in an ensuing post.

Current intel indicates that Iranian nuclear sites were NOT obliterated at all. They say Iran can rebuild its nuclear program in a matter of months. Was this war necessary? Loss of Israeli and Iranian lives need not have been lost if diplomacy was followed from the start.

What else would you expect from a congenital liar and narcissist. He must boast about whatever he does, without regard for the truth. When his own intelligence community determines that his attack on Iran's nuclear facilities was not fully effective, he refuses to believe them.

The U.S Military should be apolitical, but Trump continuously tries to politicize them. At a speech, days ago, he had them cheering behind him as it they were supporters at a rally. His self-aggrandizing parade continues the trend. Their unnecessary use in L.A. caps his defiance of the Constitution.

www.nytimes.com/2025/06/11/u... Isn't this typical of Republicans, making cuts that harm the middle class and the poor while fighting to keep huge tax breaks for the super-rich. Those cuts will have minimal impact in deficit reduction. They have an opportunity to reduce the deficit and cut the debt

The actions of the Trump administration are deplorable, rounding up migrants indiscriminately, without due process or evidence that they are criminals. The people have every right to protest peacefully and to resist Trump's gestapo, but they MUST remain peaceful. Damage to property is not acceptable

The Big Beautiful Bill may be big, but it is far from beautiful. Its huge budget deficit blows up the National Debt as it drastically cuts funding for vital federal programs and the social safety net. Billionaires don't need its huge tax cuts, but avg. Americans do need the services that it cripples

Trump's Gestapo (ICE) roams the streets of Los Angeles clad in full military gear and riding in military vehicles. This paramilitary group is rounding up assumed migrants indiscriminately, many of them innocent of any crime. These tactics are strangely reminiscent of Nazi Germany, rounding up Jews.

The DOGE approach to eliminating waste, fraud and abuse has actually done very little of that. In actuality, they took a chainsaw to numerous departments and branches of government, often crippling them and cutting critical services to millions of Americans, mainly the poor.
