My eldest has been dying to play “the video console” ever since I brought out my Gameboy Advance to show her older cousin. Yesterday I introduced her to a couple of games, one more of a classic than the other.

First time I’ve seen Bluesky mentioned in popular media. It’s from “Casi un Millón de Horas” by Juan González Mesa (who appears not to be on Bluesky himself).
Photo of text from a book (in Spanish), the word Bluesky is highlighted:

Mientras el perito trabajaba en el informe, Loren se centró en el control de la plataforma de Detective Público.
En cinco minutos, el vídeo de Valeria descubriéndose sin gorra, lentillas ni maquillaje había sido descargado y subido a YouTube, X, Bluesky, Tiktok, Instagram...; a todas partes.

I might have just turned my first heel. I might have to frog tomorrow. Who knows? 🤷‍♀️ #knitting #socks
A partially completed knitted sock still on circular needles. Knitted toe up with a contrasting heel, which is as far as it’s gotten.

Look at these cool Rust async tide and surf stickers that I had at home! The tide one was used to cover up a corporate sticker on a laptop that’s going to our nephew. Lucky him!
2 stickers sitting on a table top. One shaped like a surfboard with a smiling face and small text “rustasync/surf” and another shaped like a wave with a smiling face and small text “rustasync/tide”.

It turns out that past me was a bit of an asshole.

My bank is still using the best security from the 90s.

Photo isn’t great because they’re far away.
Buildings in the foreground and hills in the background. On one hill wind turbines are being built. One is complete, 4 are just stumps.

First time actually trying to block my #knitting.

It had somehow not occurred to me previously that if it’s hard to find shops that sell a variety of craft beer where you live, you can simply go online and pay an exorbitant amount of money to have said beer shipped to your house. I may have gotten a little carried away…
Bottles and cans of craft beer only it ch en table. There are orchids in the background in between the two windows.

This one is going to be just as iconic, with no one understanding the context, in a few thousand years.

There is a new Sections bit in the sidebar on docs.rs which is fantastic! Thank you to the team behind it! This is great for docs.rs/tracing which has a bunch of sections which were previously hard to get to.
The sidebar of tracing's docs.rs page. Under All Items is a "Sections" heading containing a list of sections in the landing page.

Age yourself with the first computer you used. (Actually I think the one I used was IBM PC-compatible, but not an actual IBM)
An “old” personal computer. The image is of an IBM XT. CRT display, dual 5 1/4” floppy drive and a keyboard sitting in front.

This morning I finished the #Vergissmeinnicht trilogy by #KerstinGier. It’s great, I absolutely loved it! Vergissmeinnicht means Forget-Me-Not in German. Also, just goes to show that if you can fit Jeanna d’Arc as a character in your book, you totally should.

I’m BBQing on Christmas, and that’s why if you live in Europe, you might as well live in Spain.

That picture makes it very hard to distinguish the 0 days (days without any GitHub activity). What I’m actually most proud of is my down time. Notice the mostly empty top and bottom rows in the same graph from my profile page. That’s me not doing anything on the weekends.
GitHub contribution graph (heat map where each box is a day, each week is a single column, weeks are shown left to right). The top and bottom rows (representing Sunday and Saturday respectively) have very few contributions, they’re mostly zero.

I’m not unhappy with this at all, especially given that much of this is contributing to other projects and none of it was paid. git-wrapped.com/profiles/hds

I sewed a button hole for the first time yesterday. It’s ugly as, but the whole was a mess to begin with and it’s my first one, so I’m happy with it. #sewing #handSewing

This notification seems to be lowering the bar a lot… what’s next #LinkedIn, “5 people are aware of your existence”?

`console-subscriber` 0.1.10 release: github.com/tokio-rs/console/release… Fixes (1) Fix the self wake count. Self wakes were previously not being counted. This also means that the self wake lint will now get triggered (self wakes more than 50% of the time).
The task detail screen in Tokio Console for the burn task. There is a warning up the top that reads "This task has woken itself for more than 50% of its total wakeups (84%)".

In the Waker section includes a line at the bottom that reads "Self Wakes: 1396 tiems (84%)".

Removed the confusing minimum histogram count from the poll time and schedule time histograms. Improve visibility of long file locations in the task and resource detail views. You now see the end of the file name. This is probably more useful than the beginning.

Help View There's a new help view modal on all screens when you press `?`. It only shows the control keys now, but that list of keys has been reorganized and may include features you didn't realize were available.
Tokio Console tasks list view with an overlaid modal window. The window's title says "Help" and it shows a list of control keys and a description of what they do.
