Across the country, 300,000 public sector workers were out striking. The fact is it should have never come to this and this Government needs to stop posturing and come to the table with a workable proposal. Stand with the unions, stand with the workers. #strike #ireland #publicsector #tradeunions

As someone who was diagnosed this time last year with cancer in both breasts & subsequently had to go through surgery, radiation and now on a five year course of drug treatment, I cannot stress how important it is everyone to check their breasts. #breastcancerawareness #breastcancer #cancer #ireland

€8.6 BILLION! 💰💰💰 Sounds impressive right? But where are the results and what does it really cost us? This Government has shown once again they are failing to plan which means they are planning to fail. #Budget2027 #Ireland #HousingCrisis #ClimateAction #CostOfLiving

Budget 2027 is upon us. We've been pushing our pre-budget ideas from a better savings model to taxing data centres to reversing transport fares to €2.5 billion inflation fuel fund. Seven ideas. All practical. All doable. All to protect our futures in a climate & cost of living crisis. #budget27

This Government is looking to hike up the fares of public transport by 15-30% that's on average an extra €200 a year for users which in a cost of living crisis is complete madness! Should you just grin and bear it? "HELL NO!" #publictransport #bus #train #luas #ireland

TikTok says it spends €2 billion on trust and safety. But if they really want to make our kids safer, there’s one simple solution. Turn off the engagement driven recommender for children! It’s time to put children’s wellbeing before social media companies profits. #tech #regulation #socialmedia

We've had two energy crises in four years because Ireland remains dependent on imported fossil fuels. The Green Party's €2.5bn Fossil Fuel Inflation Fund would provide targeted support while investing in retrofits and renewables for lasting energy security. #energy #fuel #climatechange #renewables

According to the CSO Data Centres consumed 23% of Ireland's metered electricity in 2025 and could consume up to 30% by 2030! Time they paid for the bigger share! @greenparty.ie are proposing a levy on Data Centre energy usage. It could raise up to 100 million plus in revenue! #datacentres #budget

The news of over 70 Councillors receiving abusive calls of a sexual nature is awful but not new. The Government needs to put in place a National Action Plan to tackle violence against women in politics to ensure democracy does not continue to get undermined or eroded! #politics #gender #equality

Data centres uses 32% of Ireland's total electricity supply but pay almost less than half of the residential rate. So we're effectively subsidizing tech giants during a cost of living & energy crisis. Meanwhile this Govt continues to cheerlead their expansion & continue to fail in their obligations.
_"The Government’s consistent cheerleading for data centre expansion has reached a point of reckless disconnect from the economic reality of Irish citizens... Irish families are paying nearly double the electricity rates of these industrial facilities, effectively subsidizing the massive energy consumption of global tech giants while struggling with a punishing cost-of-living crisis."

Is the Minister for Media, Patrick O'Donovan, going to haul the media in every time he disagrees with their coverage of his Government's mismanagement? It is inappropriate for the Minister to interfere in the independence of media when their reporting does not suit his Government.

Ireland can no longer afford a National Development Plan that merely "aims" for green targets or one that relies on fossil fuels. Green energy independence means that when global conflicts drive up the price of oil and gas, Irish families are protected because their power comes from renewables!

When we look at Epstein Files it feels like we learned nothing from the Me Too movement, we still don't believe women. In Ireland we have insanely low rates of prosecution for trafficking. It doesn't mean there's no trafficking, it just means the law is not fit for purpose and we are doing enough!

The fact is under the assessment toolkit that the Gov is basing their review on it does not take into account many of the extra duties SNAs go above and beyond to do. Our message to this Gov is loud and clear, that we need to prioritise SNAs, the work they do rather than make them feel penalised.

1/2 In light of the violations by Grok the X AI chatbot let's look at the gap in Irish law. There's an apparent and dangerous gap in the law. Under Coco's law that got enacted in 2020 the sharing of deepfake and harmful content is illegal so is the using of such material for harrassment. However

In light of the revelation that Grok the X AI chatbot have been responding to user prompts to remove the clothing from images of women and to create "sexualized images of children" to further post them on X, Green Party Media and Justice Spokespersons have called on state regulators and enforcement to act.

Hazel Chu Spokesperson for Expenditure, Digitalisation and Media stated “Social Media companies have repeatedly shown complete disdain for the consequences of their actions and their manipulations. Coimisiún na Meán must step up and act; it was established to provide some regulation over these companies, to protect vulnerable users and should use it powers to do just that. This is a potential criminal breach that warrants immediate action.”

Responding to the concerning development Patrick Costello Spokesperson for Justice for the Green Party says “There are serious questions to be asked here in terms of Coco’s law, child pornography legislation, and X’s liability for this harm. At the very least Gardai should be investigating X for breaching the law and holding the company and its board responsible.”X must be held accountable for creation and distribution of child sexual abuse materials and revenge porn – Green Party

Judicial Review withdrawn for Metrolink! If the State is, as reported, buying the homes as an offer to end the Judicial Review then said homes should be used to add onto our public housing stock and be converted into public housing to help alleviate our ever increasing homeless numbers. #Metrolink

Thousands of commuters stuck in the past day. The #Luas Green line being down is a prime lesson for this Government to prioritise public transport. We need investment into many modes of sustainable public transport so people aren't stuck in cars when one mode of public transport goes down.

The truth is today's #budget2026 VAT cut at a cost of €700m to the taxpayer would have helped my mum's now closed restaurant only a little. What would have helped her & so many small restaurants a lot more was a sliding VAT rate. Where the likes of McDonald's get a lot less reduction & smaller 1/2
