this is a banger. i feel like theres a lot to investigate with something like semantic zoom: does it affect learnability if the changes with zoom level? what impact is there over time as the amount of content stored grows? does that push users to naturally zoom out? do they forget their own content?

ux friends, does anyone have any resources (papers, studies, blog posts, talks, ...) exploring canvas interfaces, node base uis, that kind of thing... there's a wealth for visual programming but im struggling to find the same interest in other kinds of canvas apps/interfaces.

this is potentially a spicy take but i think i'm way more excited at the thought of a scrappy open web where apps are coming up with niche/specific lexicons vs a heavily standardised one where custom lexicons are discouraged in favour of maximal interop 🧐

im aware, yeah. i've no problem sharing a space and indeed building alongside folks who use ai in their development to whatever degree they like. i have seen many interesting (and not so interesting) atproto projects built with ai recently, i would like to see some that are not. its not that deep

i care! i'd like to find examples of things built without ai just because i find it joyful and exciting, regardless of their quality. ive not really said anything about vibe coded or ai assisted apps other than "i don't want to see examples of those" which is not very scandalous
