Hawkgrrrl @hawkgrrrl.bsky.social · 04/10/2026A woman asked me where I got my hair done because she was new to Phoenix and needed to find a good colorist and I felt bad telling her that I don't have one--I gave up on coloring and even getting it cut when my stylist quit doing hair, and I just have fantastic hair naturally. It's been YEARS. 060

Hawkgrrrl @hawkgrrrl.bsky.social · 27/09/2026My dad just died today. He was 100 years old, served in WW2, had 7 kids, worked on the moon landing as an engineer, then in nuclear power, including the Three Mile Island construction and cleanup. He finally died from complications due to a UTI infection, but only after living a very full life. 6230

My parents used to like to do things like cook dandelions from the yard or kill rabbits and cook them for dinner. Once I asked my mom what this meat was, and she lied and said "chicken." I said "If it's chicken, why am I picking buckshot out of it?" 022
Hawkgrrrl @hawkgrrrl.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Julia Jones was incredible and stole every scene. My mother was 6 years old in 1933, so that made the movie feel like a time capsule of her childhood years. When she talked about growing up during the depression, it was a lot like this. People did whatever they had to do, and being smart mattered. 110
