The star attractions of the new Corazón y vida: Lowriding Culture exhibit at the Smithsonian's American History Museum are the two dazzling 1960s lowrider cars, but there's also a gallery of fantastic photography to go along with it. Well worth seeing.

The Smithsonian Natural History Museum has moved the birds' exhibit from a basement corridor to a new space in the former Discovery Room. They've retained the vintage dioramas and display cases, and it looks great! It's between the African Voices exhibit and the Sant Ocean Hall.

Finally made it to a wonderful photography exhibit at Washington DC’s National Gallery of Art that I’ve been meaning to catch: Photography and the Black Arts Movement, 1955–1985. It’s in its final weeks (runs through January 11).

Just posted some sample images shot with the Nikon Z 14-24mm f2.8. For me, it's a big improvement over the AF-S version. And just fun to shoot with! More at the link. buff.ly/DpEoxKB

The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum is gradually getting back to full service. After a multi-year refresh, they’ve been opening new exhibits in stages. This week, they opened several new exhibits. These photos are all of the newly reopened areas. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!

The Laowa 10mm ƒ/2.8 is wide. Very wide. It also has autofocus. And it has very effective aspherical elements keeping things straight rather than that bulging, distorted look you get with a fisheye lens. I've been out shooting with it. Here are some examples. More at hcwt.io/laowa10mm #laowa

Shooting with the Nikon Z 50mm f1.2 S fast AF prime lens. It's neither cheap nor small, but it's a heck of a lens. havecamerawilltravel.com/nikon-nikkor... #nikon

Out shooting with the Viltrox AF 25mm f1.7 lens. havecamerawilltravel.com/viltrox-af-2... At $176, it's hard to beat on price for an autofocus lens. And it performs quite well indeed! #viltrox

This morning at the Lincoln Memorial. The lighting and color are natural—it’s the sun rising directly in the east, shining into the main chamber of the memorial right after sunrise. It only happens around the spring and fall solstice.

I recommend dropping by the International Center of Photography if you're in Lower Manhattan. Some outstanding work on display.

We're bracing for impact for a big snowstorm to hit the region tomorrow night. In the meantime, here are some shots I've taken over the years of Washington DC becoming a winter wonderland in the snow.

The National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC has a large interactive multimedia tribute to the famous Greensboro Lunch Counter. It's really effective!

There are no blossoms at this time of year—at least, not for this variety—but that doesn’t mean the famous cherry trees at the Tidal Basin in Washington DC can’t put on an autumn show with their beautiful yellow and orange leaves. I took this a couple of days ago.

Stumbled upon "Spirit in the Dark" at the Smithsonian's African American History Museum a few days ago. It shows a selection of photos from Ebony, Jet, and Negro Digest going back to the 1940s. It’s quite a small exhibition but well worth seeing if you're in the area. #photography
