Ah.. I was in 105 so I had the worst view of it of anybody. Didn’t realize until I saw a bigger replay that there was never a kicking motion by Roldan. I guess we’ll have to wait until someone comes up with a Xp stat (if they already haven’t) to assign proper credit to that pass

Kind of a dumb decision because the pass was clearly instrumental to the goal and the shot/deflected rebound was basically was basically one extended event. It’s certainly more of an assist than if someone passes 3 yards to a guy in midfield who then shoots from 30 yards.

Sounders-KC with something like 40 shared attempts on goal tonight. Most coaches will probably be having a fit over the loose defending but I can tell you it was a lot more fun than watching the average modern game where you can go half an hour without seeing a real scoring chance

I’m actually a little triggered by this because I just went out of my way to procure a book by a famous coach and so far it’s all just been tedious stuff like this: defining things that actually need to be simplified (if they need to be defined at all) in ways that actually render them 100% useless

I don’t know if there is an English language audiobook of Spieltage by Robert Reng, but that would be a great one too. (And timely) It’s a history of the early days of the Bundesliga told from the point of view of player/manager Heinz Höher. Pretty ordinary guy with some extraordinary stories.
