I visited a few #NoKings protest sides by bicycle today. That was a fantastic way to experience it. Many of the protests are stretched out. By cycling from site to site and spending some time there you get to see a lot more of what is going on.

Democrats should be champions for free speech / free access to information. Social media has big issues and there are big companies to be held accountable. Using a blanket ban by age is a blunt tool that will severely limit free speech and will not limit the power of these companies.

Here is a crazy idea: let people ride the #bicycles they like with the clothes they want. This goes both ways. Don’t judge people for wearing or not wearing spandex. Upright or aero positions are all fine. Let people just enjoy #cycling.

If you care about bicycle safety, please do not ask for bicycle helmet laws. It makes cyclists less safe. Having more people on bicycles makes cycling safer (by creating awareness, by showing demand for more safe infrastructure, ...). Bicycle helmet laws prevent people from cycling.

I’m thinking about putting a larger chainring on my #LarryVsHarry #cargoBike. It has a 36T (and a smaller one; it’s a 2x). The smallest cog is 11T, giving me a max ratio of 3.3. Maybe I should try 38, 39, or 40T.

Renting a car for two weeks costs >$500. For that you can order a bicycle to anywhere in the US. At the end of the trip you can donate the bike or likely get it back home with you for a small fee. Beware of any politician doing this. It’s a major red flag of the most cynical political opportunism, weaponization of lies & misinformation, and manipulation of some consultant’s idea of a “wedge issue.” It would waste public money, risk or even cost lives, weaken the city, make traffic worse, etc.
