I think you are right but we should be beating Saints fairly comfortably. I’d start him. What I’ve found strange is that Nico isn’t even coming on in the 80th minute - the likes of Rico and James are coming on before him.

I’m a massive Baleba fanboy. He is unbelievable. I’d love him at City. That’s coming from someone who is usually highly sceptical about Brighton players and the prices quoted. Really intrigued to see where he goes next. Dealing with Bloom and Barber will be the tough part for any buyer.

Some big hitters also have a year left on there deals so have leverage. If I’m Stones, why would I move for less money this summer when I could run my deal and maximise my earnings on a free at my next club? Same goes for all the high earners we might want to shift with deals expiring 2026.

Adam Wharton and Carlos Baleba are two players I’ll be keeping a close eye on in the summer. Going to be interesting to see what clubs will potentially move for them, or if they both stay put for another season. You’ll be paying top dollar that’s for sure.

Was very impressed with him when I watched the tournament. I do think we should manage our expectations though - I don’t think he’s physically ready like Alvarez was. I could 100% see a loan as the most likely option.

Agreed. It’s all hindsight but our summer 2023 recruitment was especially poor. Nunes, Doku and Kovacic didn’t really move the dial and have all split opinion. Haaland and Gvardiol have been the best ones but unfortunately we have had far more misses over recent years.
