After WIP revisions, I took a short break. It's become a long one. Part of me wants to pick up where I left off, but I've also got other things going on for the next few months. As an indie author, I get sad going into bookshops now. I ignore books because of the cover. And then wonder if I might love the book. It's just the marketing team weren't quite as good. And as I do most of my own covers, I wonder if I'm putting people off what I write, who would actually like it

I don't like this, but I'm going to rewrite 19 chapters of my WIP. The more I think about that part of the storyline, the more I know the main character doesn't match how he was in the first book, and I need that part of the story to be stronger. At least I get to do more writing, less editing

There was a short story call with an amazing publisher. I really wanted my story to be accepted. I tried something a bit different. I doubted it would land. I was pretty sure it would be a rejection. And the results came today… …it was accepted!!!! I am over the moon😁

Recently, I decided not to start editing my WIP, instead working on a short story submission. Then I got three rejections in 36 hours, and my confidence dropped. I kept at it. I saw the publisher say they had some amazing submissions. I was nervous. But kept going. And my story got accepted!!!!

One of the publishers I submitted a story for said yesterday they'd send out the results I woke up today expecting a rejection Nothing My brain: "They're doing the acceptances first." But why wouldn't they do the unpleasantness first? Providing me with hope... Which is not appropriate at all
