Bumping this up to 3/5 Cloverfield (2008): still a spectacle, and eerily effective at showing the chaos of a 9/11-esque event. 4/5 000

I’m not really sure what the writer/director were going for. It’s sure got some 90s sci-fi ideas, but hard to recommend. 2/5 000

This re-telling of the original series ending is an apocalyptic and psychedelic exploration of existence and our connection to others. 5/5 010

It’s more about what it means to be making a Matrix sequel in 2021 than it is a Matrix 4. It doesn’t pull any punches either, with the movie’s love for Trinity detonating like an atom bomb. 4/5 020

Paul Rudd’s character moves to the same street as Tim Robinson’s, and zany antics ensue. Plenty of good cringe humor, but it didn’t quite congeal into something more like I was hoping. It ties together contemporary male loneliness with the age-old warning of “be careful what you wish for.” Great execution from up-and-coming writer/director Curry Barker maintains tension throughout.
