Haroon Meer @haroonmeer.canary.love · 09/05/2025With all the comments on live goats being used as a booth attraction at #RSAC, you have to feel sorry for the marketing team at OpenText. They had a huuuge booth & banners _also_ using goats as the central theme. Folks in marketing worked a bunch & got kinda out-goated.. 010 1
Haroon Meer @haroonmeer.canary.love · 27/04/2025It's kinda been raised, but its nuts that (according to Mandiant/M-Trends) in 2025: - vulnerabilities/exploits are the most frequently observed initial vector; - the top 4 exploited vulns belong to security vendors. What are we doing here? 🤯😱 3277 27
Haroon Meer @haroonmeer.canary.love · 01/02/2025I always thought teen/highschool movies were pointless, but turns out more people needed to watch them.. Sure you get to bully everyone at the start, but it never ends well.. 080 8
Haroon Meer @haroonmeer.canary.love · 26/01/2025A close (but awesome) first win for Ale Galán & Chingo against the current world number 1s. @thinkstcanary.canary.tools have a bunch of Padel addicts and we are pretty firmly on team Galan. 💪💚 030 3
Haroon Meer @haroonmeer.canary.love · 12/01/2025Academic work on honeypots and deception are often kinda disappointing, but this paper by Ashenden and Reeves is worth the skim (especially since it confirms lots of our @ThinkstCanary.canary.tools takes 😉) tl;dr : Canaries work, Use ‘em. — ¹ scholarspace.manoa.hawaii.edu/server/api/c... 0186 18

Haroon Meer @haroonmeer.canary.love · 30/11/2024In retrospect, one of the great misses of Star Wars, was a thread of the Empire believing themselves to be the underdogs. It is clearly the common, default take - even with all logical evidence to contrary. 160 6
Haroon Meer @haroonmeer.canary.love · 24/11/2024Many try to mimic skunkworks. It’s interesting to read¹ Kelly Johnson describe it: “Skunkworks is a concentration of a few good people solving problems far in advance and at a fraction of the cost of other groups in the aircraft industry… 1/2 2212 21
