A very cliché gamedev thought, but I sometimes wonder if I should outright quit my dayjob to work on game projects full time. I feel like I can get so much done in a few hours of coding on my project than I can with days of dealing with the rigid process of developing enterprise software.

Have no plans for tonight, so I'm considering doing a very low-stakes gamedev stream at around 8PST. I'm mostly gonna be showing code onscreen, but might pop up a quick demo from time to time. Might play a game later on if there's interest, but I honestly don't see that happening.

It's likely I won't hear from anyone for another 2-3 months based on how this usually plays out. I probably should file restraining orders on them at this point, but the long intervals of silence in between makes them easy to ignore otherwise.

So far, my mom hasn't called back about any of this, which makes sense since she's a spineless fucking loser who can barely manage to take care of even her own needs. It's also very possible that my sister lied about making any of the calls since she is she is a drunken compulsive liar.

As an update to this, my sister called me again on Sunday saying she called my mom and threatened to call our estranged father that we both haven't heard from in over a decade to force me to get in contact with her. As far as I know, she has not told our father about her affair.

As a kicker, we’ve had a death in the family at one point in the past few years, but did not do a funeral or memorial for them, and this is the intended direction for other family members in the future. So may our eventual deaths be just as meaningless as our lives!

This is the first time in over a year I’ve gotten this off my chest, but I don’t think anyone cares at this point. I hope I die in my sleep soon.

The result of all this for me is that I’ve been living in complete isolation for the past 13 months and this is probably just going to be indefinite. I also work remotely and none of my co-workers know about any of this, nor would they need to.

I’ve honestly been upset at my mother the most through all this. My sister can fuck off at this point for the years of drunken lies she’s told, but I swear if my mom just accepts my sister being with her old boyfriend that she hates after all of this, she can fuck off and die in a ditch as well.

To clarify, my sister is well into her 40s and has been with her 50-year old boyfriend for roughly the past 20 years before making anyone aware of this affair.

I used to meet with my sister every week, the only family member to do so. The last two years of doing this were grueling with her and her boyfriend constantly getting into verbal fights and my sister becoming blackout drunk within hours of me being there.
