I'm shopping for a dishwasher after eating all that Canadian food. Bosch are made in the USA so fuck them. I'll get an EU made Miele; they cost more up front but last sooo much longer that they work out to be the cheapest option*. Not being disposable they're less harmful to the environment too.

Well, they're not in Canada so I guess it's a moot question. I'd like to think Canadians are bright enough not to need a physical figurehead of state, or be as happy with a pet moose in the position, but many people may still need the idea of a real person, however distant, to have confidence.
