India's coal generation has been flat for 2 years despite demand for electricity rising 7%. All new demand met with solar and wind. India has no gas generation. India is also 3rd largest emitter of CO2 and its power sector is a biggest culprit. It seems India is reaching peak coal.

Oracle tried to build a 2 GW gas plant in New Mexico to power its datacenter. Local residents and state officials in New Mexico opposed it as it would have wiped out all emissions reductions in the state over the past 20 years. Now Oracle is sourcing clean power for the project.
