In all the years of listening to waveform by @mkbhd.com never thought #Flutter would come up on it.

Isn’t not native kind of a no brainer though? So much work can be saved and even if you end up needing native for some parts still way more shared code than 2 native codebases.

Just wanted to shoutout this package we’d made as part of our app, been around for a while but I think it kinda went under the radar. If you like most companies now use figma this can be very useful pub.dev/packages/fig...

@eseidel.com curious how this ended up going, is there scope for a nice little product in this space to make things just a little bit easier or were you able to find a good existing solution

Great to see this. Go router has already been far too focused on breaking changes

Haha I think being in a timezone where the problems drop in the morning (but not early) helped, and ended up being the major factor 😅

And also thanks to @spydon.dev for the dart leaderboard. Definitely was one of the reasons to be there on time and get on it right away when the questions dropped 😅😅

And thank you to @was.tl for building this. If anyone else is giving it a shot be sure to check out the subreddit too, amazing community. The memes are half the fun of this XD

First year I properly attempted AoC, and NGL pretty fun exercise.Went back and did some of the later 2023 questions during the first week and it was useful to build a little helper library. Looking forward to doing this again in a different language(Haskel?) and maybe go back and do all 10 years

Google+ time and time again proves that it was so ahead of its time. Wonder how different things would be if Google was a leader in the social media space

Is the baseflow org dead? Anyone here knows someone on that team? This PR that fixes what is imo a critical issue has been up for quite a while but has gotten zero responses from the team github.com/Baseflow/flu...

For almost all use cases a simple webhook + cloud function works best That should be sufficient for stripe -> discord too

Yeah but that one's more on the Dev imo, if you're doing cryptography you should use .secure(), randoms doc had that I was more surprised that the dart daemon was exploited from that too

We have grown to almost 700 users in a short time but still many #Flutterdev have not heard about it it seems. Because Twitter punishes outgoing links even the official announcement by the Flutter team there did not get many reactions. If you are on reddit, some slack or Discord, please

Now you can do this in dart too pub.dev/packages/dar... Not quite all the features yet, but it's a start

Yup good chance some kind of recursion comes into play tmrw that expands on this, regex will become harder to deal with

Great insights as usual, happy to know that supporting flutter is a wider goal of shorebird. More companies that use flutter today should do that and even work with Google (Flutter team) to become reviewers and have ownership to improve the contribution experience for everyone in the community

Not sure if I'm misunderstanding your code, but if you called showdialog from some widget, the dialogue isn't now a subchild of that widget so when you invoke setstate from within the dialogue, which state were you expecting get updated? Could you share the code snippet if possible

I think it's worth resharing here this very enjoyable post by @mraleph. Microbenchmarks are often silly but it's extremely satisfying to see language expert taking a stab at it. #dart #flutterdev mrale.ph/blog/2024/11...

What’s the benefit? I only see downsides like having to do more work to get issues/updates from that package into your code base, and no major benefit

Yeah I’m doing it more for the fun for sure. And maybe learn something new along the way. But I don’t really agree with the idea that official app needs to be the best. Reddit is a big example IMO, ofc something like apollo probably wouldn’t happen as a side project
