A Sonic R skeet? And it's not from @hard-pretzel.bsky.social? What in the wide, wide world of sports is going on here?!

well that was a great mental health boost. can't say anything about it but wow. apparently it happened like a month ago. it explains so much. it's really a shame i can't give any details at all but this is exactly what i needed.

there's so many dope as hell makers out there and so many of you are only using their FAN projects to shit on the thing they're a FAN of in the first place. dont yall get tired

030

Hard Underscore Pretzel @hard-pretzel.bsky.social · 29/04/2026

not shitting on all modders & modmakers but it really shouldnt be a surprise that the folk going out of their way to """fix""" things also tend to have a very "my way is the only right way" mindset when it comes to discussing anything to do with sonic.

I've got a "little" "table" at a local convention this Saturday! I'll be handing out free goodies to anyone willing to try out Sonic R! There will be prizes for the best times!

🎩NEW VIDEO🎩 It’s time to set the record straight. Bad people have convinced you that Balan Wonderworld is a bad game. It's okay if you hate it, but you really don't need to keep spreading the same old lies from the same old liars. ▶ youtu.be/dUVnQsbUUnM

oh trust. i seek out stuff most people consider "trash" my factory sealed copy of Sonic Jam on the game com is one of my most precious treasures (I have a loose one I actually play, of course)

really a shame the game was so hated because I think it'd be a great candidate for a Switch 2 upgrade 🤣

Been waiting for this one :D An excellent video! So glad to see more people going to bat for this game. And yes, not only should you watch this insightful and witty video, but you should absolutely play BWW as well. Get the Steam version. Do it NOW, lol.

Hard Underscore Pretzel @hard-pretzel.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

exactly! I'm a huge advocate for "PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP BUYING SHIT YOU DON'T KNOW IF YOU'LL ENJOY" because when you go into something KNOWING you'll hate it, it's only going to make it worse unless you're completely blown away!

110

Hard Underscore Pretzel @hard-pretzel.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

oh yeah, hating the game is absolutely not a problem. it is NOT a game most people will enjoy. I compare it to a niche experimental indie game, because that's technically what it was revealed as... people just kinda... jumped the gun and expected something very different because of the names.

030

Hard Underscore Pretzel @hard-pretzel.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

definitely more power to the people that enjoy the game, but I've been SPOILED by Balans boss design.

000

Hard Underscore Pretzel @hard-pretzel.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

YOURE NOT ALONE. some of those bosses in superstars RUINED the game for me! 🤣

110

Hard Underscore Pretzel @hard-pretzel.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

truly unfortunate too, because at least from visuals, it's quite an impressive roster (Naoto Oshima on character design REALLY shines through) By all means the game ain't a universal unsung masterpiece, but it's an average+boring puzzle platformer at WORST. definitely not worth the burning hate.

100

Hard Underscore Pretzel @hard-pretzel.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

to be fair, if the development team having a criminal record meant a game was completely and entirely unplayable... that would knock out a LOT of games 🤣

its on sale pretty much all the time, not even just summer. I think last week it was like $2 🤣 if physical is more your jam though, they're usually less than 10 bucks

110

Hard Underscore Pretzel @hard-pretzel.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

ha. maybe. See ya in another 5! 🙏🏻

000

Hard Underscore Pretzel @hard-pretzel.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

tbh, the demo really doesn't do the game justice for me, the best part is taking costumes into places they weren't "meant" to be in. Sequence breaking and experimentation MAKE the game for me, which the demo really couldn't present well not to say you'll 100% enjoy the real thing though! 🤣

020

I mean I wouldn't say it *isn't* as much as there's quite a bit of reasonable doubt. especially once you take into account the novels implications behind the true nature of the maestro's and their theatre.

that's how they work tbh. if people don't know, they won't think anything is weird and will start clicking links or sending messages to "totally real" account support. They also usually send messages super late at night hoping to catch people half-conscious

since nobody sees what i post here imma just say as awesome as the unleashed recomp is, certain sonic fans really gotta learn to shut the fuck up. All yall sucking your own dick (when most of you didn't even help on the project at all) is how and why publishers shut this shit down.
