Here is a great example of how these octopuses can change the color and texture of their skin. Roomba went from bright red, to a tawny brown, and then a white shade within seconds. 🐙 000

Sea stars belong to the phylum Echinodermata which means “spiny skin” clearly seen here. This intertidal fish uses its suction cup disc, made of its modified pelvic fins, to stick to rocks and other smooth surfaces. We have two at the Marine Life Center but they like to hide. 051

His eyes rotate in their sockets to give a wide view and this guy never misses a morsel of food with his keen vision and bottomless appetite. 051
