Local municipalities wouldn’t be able to provide the level of services needed to most campuses. Some are the size of small cities with 60,000 plus students. The 1960’s protests elevated the need and has stuck ever since. Zero transparency and zero accountability in the private schools.

Universities here have their own police force. They investigate on campus issues and liaison with police departments off campus when necessary. Unfortunately they are beholden to the university’s interests. Covering up sexual violence to protect branding of the university occurs.
