Essential - Vol 2 of Saul Friedländer's history of Nazi Germany won the 2008 Pulitzer (non fiction). combination of testimony and event description makes this imposing tome an critical part of the canon. moderate intentionalist perspectives of the author kept to a minimum throughout.
