I think $46M annual salary precludes any claim to adversity but I might feel differently if I was in that income bracket.

One Tony Pauline claimed multiple Dolphins players blame Hafley’s defensive schemes for NFL worst defense. Any truth to this as far as you know?

Neither player is a pass rusher, so no.

I’m not going to make a bad pun but it stings that it happened on a face mask penalty that wasn’t called.

You can probably find them where there’s a large Japanese-American population but you could also order it from Amazon, if enriching Bezos microscopically won’t bother you. 🤷

Thank you for mentioning that players on IR can practice after 2 weeks. I didn’t know about this rule.

That quote leaves out the part where he doubled down and called Watson a “very young player”. 🙄

Easy to second guess not playing starters more in preseason but despite that, they already have Moore, Grant, and Louis on IR, so team depth being as shallow as it is, it’s damned if you do & damned if you don’t IMO

Helluva debut. JRod & Douglas, quite the Texas Tech duo.

Way to keep equipment manager busy sewing and removing the C on the jerseys.

“Grayson Murphy's heavy workload and the offensive line usage from the 24-24 tie against the Chicago Bears”? You might want to rewrite that lead-in.

I don’t know who this Jacob Westendorf is but I thought Kacmarek did exactly what he was drafted for, and most certainly “made his presence felt (as opposed to known) in the run game”.

John K @hapiklam.bsky.social · 14/08/2026
This is probably a dumb question but every Dolphins camp photo and video I’ve seen has defense in blue and offense in white. Shouldn’t they switch that sometimes so offense can be in darker jerseys that might be a bit hotter in the daytime?

Pretty good call by your coworker Westendorf even though he only predicted Brooks wouldn’t be traded before the season, and didn’t predict an extension.

Wouldn’t surprise me if a bunch of execs underrated him out of spite because they passed on drafting him.

Get me one too then, for not celebrating 400 masked white men marching with confederate flags in DC.

You “might” be right about every single player but I’d like to think one UDFA like Konga or Reiger make the team. Konga in particular is guaranteed $247.5k

Nice rebuttal AP, besides which it’s patently absurd that Tua is 3rd while Ewers who replaced Tua is 31st.

This is the first I heard of Tilly Norwood, but probably also the first article I read by the reporter, so I’m probably not the intended audience, but what mainly impressed me was the chatGPT answers, very clever, but not too relevant to the question of AI acting ability IMO.

He’s local and does regular collabs with YouTubers, one of whom is just as bad or worse, unless he’s changed his ways. That should narrow it down a bit

Call it win-win then. Adjusting for inflation, deferring expenses is good business.

John K @hapiklam.bsky.social · 22/05/2026
No, I’m not talking about the dollar amount, but the way it’s distributed so he’s not actually the 3rd highest paid RB in the NFL for several years. His representatives could have insisted on more up front with a holdout

John K @hapiklam.bsky.social · 22/05/2026
Shouldn’t Achane get some acknowledgement for agreeing to a team friendly deal? As is, the one-sided praise of the FO leaves the impression that team got the best of the deal.

Since you mentioned Douglas & Marshall, any idea how many of the analysts who labeled Douglas a reach also labeled Marshall a steal?
000
John K @hapiklam.bsky.social · 08/05/2026
If this was asked previously, I apologize, but do you buy the take that JE Sullivan “panicked” when selecting Caleb Douglas? I personally think he has a more positive evaluation of Douglas than the media and the public.

I like Krispy, his old nickname, if it’s ok with him. 🍩

Interesting, but it’s not much of a consensus when Kacmarek had a range of 111-383. 🙄

If I were betting on it, Proctor starts at guard (unclear if left or right), and Jackson stays at tackle, partly to acclimate Proctor to playing in the NFL, and also because I don’t believe Jackson plays that well at guard position.
000
John K @hapiklam.bsky.social · 25/04/2026
Or go wildcat with Proctor or Rodriguez? J Rod scored twice on offense in 2025, and Proctor came close.
010
John K @hapiklam.bsky.social · 25/04/2026
Depending on where Proctor plays, you might see Paul, Proctor, Brewer, Savaiinea (or Salyer), Jackson, and Kazmarek left to right. That’s a formidable looking run blocking unit, and I expect them to run a ton, both with Achane and Willis. Even the WRs they drafted are big & willing blockers.

John K @hapiklam.bsky.social · 25/04/2026
TE pick was reasonable considering there was a run at TE, 8 selected in day 2, including notables like Nate Boerkircher at pick 56. With Ingold & Julian Hill gone, it was a position of need, and with 12 & 13 personnel in vogue, all the Y TEs might have been taken if they waited too long

He did say to Jimmy Fallon, "I will absolutely apologize sometime in the distant future if I'm ever wrong.” But he might have been kidding. 🙄

John K @hapiklam.bsky.social · 12/04/2026
I’ll also add that this isn’t either-or. I hope they don’t go WR at 11 but OL at 11 would benefit Achane as well as Willis, could make the team more physical, and builds inside-out so that pick addresses multiple objectives

John K @hapiklam.bsky.social · 12/04/2026
Alright, then what about New England drafting WR, OT, G, and WR again in rounds 2, 3, 4, and 4 after taking Maye first? Those picks may not have panned out but seems obvious they were meant to help Maye.
000
John K @hapiklam.bsky.social · 12/04/2026
I question comparing Willis to Allen & Maye, with contracts fully guaranteed for 4 years as first round picks. Willis’ contract is guaranteed for just 2 years.

Going forward, you might consider something like this. Just squirt each ear a couple of times with body temp water, works well enough for me.

John K @hapiklam.bsky.social · 19/03/2026
I think “needs” should be a secondary consideration at best to BPA and positional value, because needs greatly exceed their draft capital.

John K @hapiklam.bsky.social · 17/03/2026
Pick 30, which isn’t a “prime pick”, for Waddle isn’t a win no matter how it’s rationalized

Not to mention there aren’t very many “starting caliber” FA offensive linemen who aren’t way past their prime or perennially injured.

Nothing against Hendrickson but hope this blows up in Ravens’ faces.

Interesting takes you have on Fano & Ioane. There’s a draft guy I talk to that thinks Ioane is strictly a gap scheme player but probably thinks highly of Fano. So many different takes, makes me glad I don’t have to stick my neck out with a take. 😌

I try to turn the other cheek and not engage, in the interest of self-preservation. I did my part voting against DT, and returning intolerance with contempt doesn’t seem productive. As much as I can, I try to avoid doing business with companies that are in bed with DT. 🤷
