Thrilled to have received an ERC Advanced Grant to investigate the mechanisms and biological impact of small RNA mobility in plants. A huge thanks to my team for making this possible, and to the reviewers for their support and confidence in the project. Looking forward to getting started!

New OA Letter: "An active Helitron transposon family in wheat" rdcu.be/foNPA Heat stress and reduced DNA methylation can mobilize a Helitron family. Its mobilization is genetically linked to a specific full-length member catalysing the full Helitron life cycle. #PlantScience

Long-distance transport of siRNAs with functional roles in pollen development - Nature Plants
This study shows that many small RNAs in Capsella rubella pollen originate from maternal tissues. These mobile small RNAs support proper pollen development, revealing that non-cell-autonomous small RN...

Super cool findings. TE may do more things than we expect with host. I recalled LTR-RT (PopRice🌾) extrachromosomal DNA 🧬act as the sponges of TF ABI5 in the terminal tissue endosperm that does not inherit its DNA. Which regulating the development of rice seed-to-seedling transition.
