I'm very excited for a few days of genre/register fun at AG 9 of #DGfS2026 in Trier. Today, it's time to absorb and process theoretical and applied approaches and studies looking at examples from a lovely set of languages (🇸🇪🇩🇪🇬🇧🇫🇷) and text types (such as transcribed life stories).

A great start to the #CMC-Corpora conference in beautiful Bayreuth. Lovely warm-up dinner last night and really strong start this morning with presentations on Emotion and Hope Speech and a corpus study on Albanian computer mediated communication (which I knew far too little about thus far!)

The theme is new beginnings: A new platform & followers, a new job as Research Associate at Glasgow, and a great start to the day at the TaNC conference in MCR. It's been wonderful working on the Our Heritage, Our Stories project so far - and some of my visualisation work even made it on the slides.
