Just had the truly blessed experience of finishing a punnet of grapes having found zero duds. Crisp, sweet and refreshing to the last. I think this is the first time this ever happened to me? Truly what a day.

I'm interested in both short and long term, part time and full time projects. I can teach, direct, consult, and support your game's storytelling as a 'full stack' narrative designer and writer; comfortable in engine, tools, visual scripting and more!

It's been super thrilling to support Cardboard Computer to horizontal story as part of an extended pre-pro, & otherwise I'm fresh out of narrative design on Netflix's horror-thriller UNHINGED, adding a bunch of things to my XP, incl. end-to-end VO, from draft to detailed technical implementation 🛠️

The uk’s gambling industry revenue is more than tv, film, publishing, videogames, board games, and theatre combined. And I think that’s probably a bad thing. (I looked all these figures up from reliable industry body sources at 2025 revenue)

Revenue (or any money measure like GVA) is only a useful measure if you’re trying to lie convincingly to government about why your field deserves tax breaks and/or favourable legislation.

Hannah Nicklin @hannahnicklin.bsky.social · 06/10/2026
Revenue is one of the least interesting and useful measures of a field’s worth. It can be socially important, culturally important, health & wellbeing important, intellectually important, and also importance doesn’t always mean ‘the best’, a Saturday 5 a side is a really important piece of culture!

Unlike the unscientific and fantastical claims of OpenAI and Anthropic CEOs and those who uncritically repeat their talking points, the harmful, and well-documented, impacts of these companies’ products have arisen because people believe that the products are superintelligent, not because they actually are.

A meme text overlay on an Ursula K Le Guin quote about art, replacing the word ART with JOKE. In total it reads:

"I see JOKE as a community enterprise both in place and time, and believe that JOKE that leads to more JOKE is more valuable than sterile excellence." —From “Wells's Worlds,” Ursula's introduction to her selection of short stories by H.G. Wells.

United Tech & Allied Workers (a part of the Communication Workers’ Union) AI Workers Inquiry 2026, from the executive summary, their policy essentials. techworkersinquiry.org/ai/
The emerging policy directions are:

Transparency alone would not be enough; workers need meaningful consultation and negotiation over AI deployments.
AI use must not be mandatory; workers need legal protections from detriment for refusing AI use, and employers limited in AI-driven management decisions.
Safeguards against AI externalities; strong regulations to ensure the AI we build does not harm people and planet.
Stop the brain drain; establish and defend AI-free learning pathways for junior and graduate workers.
Workers get the final say; bake in collective bargaining over AI at work.
