Glamor shot photo of a stack of vinyl kitty stickers. The kitty, Althea, is a calico in the infamous 'liquid' form that kitties can adopt when napping. Althea appears to have just woken up and is eyeballing the viewer with her tooth out. The back of the sticker is teal with 'Chromokun' logo and web url present. www.chromokun.com

Quote with your bird art:
Digital cel-shaded art of a little velociraptor with a big nasty attitude. The velociraptor is posed in an attack position with its mouth wide open, tiny needle teeth ready to chomp. It is colored somewhat like a roadrunner with speckled brown feathers and red eyes. The velociraptor is perched on a square isometric chunk of rock meant to look like a bit of Gobi Desert where this dinosaur once dwelled millions of years ago. Tufts of desert grass stick out from the chunk.Digital cel-shaded artwork of an archaeopteryx in a moment of exasperation, as it swooped onto the beach only to find out that a yummy thing flashing in the waves was merely an empty scalloped shell. The archaeopteryx is a dark bird with flashes of magenta iridescence across the wings, teal shine to its tail, blue shimmering from its pinions and head, and a little gold gleam in a scruffy feather collar around its neck. The scene takes place on an isometric chunk of beach sand with the thinnest, shallowest reach of an incoming wave stroking its surface. Watermark: http://hmcgill.artPainterly, cel-shaded digital art of an exuberant-looking Great Eared Nightjar perched on a leafy, isometric chunk of dark forest earth. The Great Eared Nightjar looks like a big fat barn swallow crossed with a great horned owl's mottled coloration. It has excessively large, bulging eyes but unlike a potoo, the eyes make it look cute and not constantly horrified. This bird has its mouth open like it's waiting for a mosquito to fly right into it. Watermark: http://hmcgill.artDigital cel-shaded artwork of a blue oviraptor sitting on a dirt nest of giant, speckled blue eggs. It holds one of the eggs in its big chunky beak playfully. It’s probably a cannibal! Its head resembles a cassowary head with a bony crest on top and a short, powerful beak in front, with dark eyes and orange freckles around the orbit. This oviraptor was colored with inspiration from a Stellar’s Jay, so its front half is darker, less-saturated blue, while it brightens towards the tail. It has black stripes on its wing pinions and tail feathers, and flashes of iridescence crest its chest and wing. The drawing is part of a series of prehistoric animals sitting on isometric square ‘chunks’ of land, so this chunk shows a cross-section of the dirt nest. A pair of eggs have attempted to escape the chunk, one on each side. Watermark: http://hmcgill.art

If you watch Miss Congeniality on HBO, it will auto-play Legally Blonde. After Legally Blonde wraps, HBO will auto-play…Miss Congeniality I wonder if it’s an infinite auto-play loop between the two movies. Does anyone want to test this and see what happens?

For my final Smaugust entry, have a dragon-headed caterpillar! I had more drawings planned, but...new projects are shiny, what can I say. Thank you everyone for looking at my 'dragons' #smaugust #dragon #art #digitalart #bug #insect #caterpillar #green #nature #sciart #science #entomology
Painterly, cel-shaded art of a dragon-headed caterpillar on an isometric chunk of lime-green marble. The caterpillar is chunky, green with offwhite chevrons going down its back, and a white belly. Its head has four long spiky horn-like appendages, and its face is weirdly aerodynamic with a wee orange mouth at the end to gently nibble a leaf. The caterpillar's nest is big waxy leaves to keep its little toes from getting cold on the marble mount. Bits of chewed leaf drift off to the side. Watermark: http://hmcgill.art

Titanoboa with Lithornis for scale (?), except I didn't have time to double-check how big these are in comparison to each other whoops #smaugust #dragon #snake #sciart #paleoart #nature #art #digitalart #paleocene #reptile #AvianAugust #bird #biology
Painterly, cel-shaded digital art of a Titanoboa, which is this absolutely massive snake from the Paleocene. Think boa constrictor, but more and more and more until the whole world is basically just...snake. The Titanoboa can barely fit on its isometric chunk of grass-covered earth, try as it might to hunker down and look all nestled in and cute like snakes can always do. It has light-orange, python-like markings and a sandy white belly, with a yellow eye peering at the brown Lithornis that decided to pose on its coil nearby. The Lithornis has a red throat and a white speckled belly and it has zero motivation to be in this piece, it just is. Watermark: http://hmcgill.art

Painterly, cel-shaded art of a Giant Flying Fox, a winged mammal so huge it may as well be a little dragon. It has a purplish-gray body and leathery flaps between its fingers, forming a typical flying dragon silhouette. It has a luxurious orange collar of extra fluff, and it is flapping right out of an isometric chunk of forest leaves. The leaves trail behind the bat as it bursts into the sky. Hey! Who chopped up my hidey-hole? #smaugust #dragon #art #digitalart #august #orange #animal #dragonmoray #moray #eel #nature #sciart #aquarium #fish #seaurchin #marine #ocean
Painterly, digital art of a dragon moray eel coming out of its rocky little hidey-hole in order to shame humanity. We totally deserve it. Anyway, the eel is extremely orange with crisscrossing red and greenish-orange stripes marking its whole body, bold white splotches on top. It has weird little noodly bits on its eyebrows and nostrils, and its mouth is open in outrage. Maybe it's actually angry at the big purple sea urchin encroaching on its marbled rock home. The rest of the eel's tail threads through the hole on the side of the isometric 'chunk' of rock. Watermark: http://hmcgill.art

Painterly, cel-shaded digital art of a frilled lizard on an isometric chunk of pebbly desert earth. The lizard is aggressively posed at the front of the chunk, opening its yellow mouth and displaying lemony-yellow frills from the sides of its cheeks. It has a dark brown neck, a peachy chest, and dark brown limbs, with a stripey tail caught mid-whip behind it. Beware of aaaa! Watermark: http://hmcgill.art

Painterly, digital art of an isometric chunk of pebbly earth being dug through by a pink dragon millipede. This shockingly magenta millipede winds around a bit of rotting wood to peer upwards into the rest of its unseen habitat. It has spikes running up and down its back. Anyone who touches this thing will be poisoned, so don't reach out and touch something just because it's pink. Watermark: http://hmcgill.art

If you see this, post your marine-themed art! 🦈
Digital cel-shaded artwork of a plesiosaur at the end of a failed lunge to catch one of ten fish. The plesiosaurus is giant, whale-like, with its vertical tail poised upwards in the seawater, and its head brushing the sandy seafloor. Clouds of disturbed sand float around the plesiosaur’s head, long neck, and fin. This plesiosaur was drawn from the more modern idea that giant sea animals have a lot of blubber. This means its neck starts out as thick as its belly and then tapers, evenly, to the width of its narrow head. The fish being hunted are yellow, with red heads and purple rainbow fins. The whole scene takes place on an isometric chunk of seafloor, during a sunset that stains the sand and rocks violet-pink. Red corals perch on a corner of sea rock nearby. A sad little fish skeleton can be seen buried in the sand. Watermark: http://hmcgill.art

Some of my entries for this challenge do not have 'dragon' in their name and were chosen because they would be a cool dragon aesthetic, such as this Great Eared Nightjar #smaugust #dragon #bird #sciart #biology #ornithology #art #digitalart

Painterly, digital art of a Chinese Water Dragon. It's a small, iguana-like lizard that is mostly green, with a spiky cheek, a frill down its back, and a long stripy tail. It sits on a rock that is half-submerged into an isometric chunk of water, its tail passing through the top of the water and out the side. A big leafy frond decorates the rock. Hello new followers! If you're bored and like free webcomics, here's mine! It's a complete short story about a ruined world full of alternative energy...and magic doom eels. (Includes detailed transcripts on every page) amphiox.hmcgill.art/comic/amphio... #webcomics #amphiox #comics #indie
Image depicted is the cover to the webcomic, Amphiox. It's a black cover with criss-crossing blue serpent coils taking up most of the background. The coils writhe around each other with faint glimmers of scales highlighted, before vanishing into darkness. This is a teaser for the beast that will be encountered and explained within the webcomic.

Layered over the writing coils of the Amphiox is its tail, oddly centered and still compared to the rest of its body. An amphiox's tail ends in a fin with rounded tips. The fin's color is a bright, bioluminescent gradient composed of yellow fading into bright skyblue, before tapering into a darker cerulean. The tail has vibrating red highlights. It casts a rainbow of highlights onto its own scales. Attached to this tail are two more, lesser pectoral and dorsal fins, in cerulean blue. The pectoral fin pokes out near the tail, and the dorsal fin is further up, and larger.

It is a white slug with four big frilly fins, and stark blue stripes patterning its body, flecked with blue dots. It is capable of undulating through water like it's flying, although in this artwork it is posed on top of an isometric chunk of pebbly seafloor. Watermark: http://hmcgill.art

Painterly, cel-shaded digital art of a Flying Dragon (draco volans) alighting on a sunlit isometric chunk of mossy earth. This is a small lizard known for expanding flaps of skin along its own ribs in order to glide out of trees. Its back faces the sun, which means its flight membranes are illuminated from its core out to the fringes of its ribs. It is a plain-looking lizard for the most part, but its wings have distinctive thick stripes running at odd angles to its ribs. Watermark: http://hmcgill.art

If anyone was worried about the origins of Dracorex hogwartsia's species name, don't worry, it has (afaik) been re-absorbed into Pachycephalosaurus as a juvenile of the species This stuff keeps people up at night, I know #smaugust #art #digitalart #dinosaur #paleoart #dragon #pachycephalosaurus
Painterly, cel-shaded art of a pachycephalosaurus whose color scheme may have been inspired by a chameleon hiding on a trans rights flag. It's pink striped with thick brown stripes, with a blue head and pastel splotches across its shoulder and down its side. Its armored domed head is white with brown spikes poking out of it. The dinosaur runs with its surprisingly yellow mouth agape. It splashes various muddy puddles on an isometric rock plane as it goes on its morning scream-and-yell jog. Doesn't everyone have a scream-and-yell jog every morning? Just me? Okay well it needs to be a thing. Watermark: http://hmcgill.art

Tittivillus Teaches Typning update: Stuck indoors? Come ogle a new level select screen, play two brand-new levels, and endure an enhanced roguelike Endless mode! Free, no ads, browser-based, no download rq chromokun.itch.io/typning #gamedev #typing #keyboard #game #writing #seattle #pnw
Cover graphic for the tiny but fierce indie typing game, Tittivillus Teaches Typning. It has a lockup in medieval-looking letters on a gold label, hovering over a plush green background. The titular Tittivillus demon pokes up from somewhere offscreen, just his blue batlike horned face visible from the nose up (and a little bit of his friendly smile). His wings spread out behind him and are mostly cropped by the graphic's constraints. Regrettably, as of typing, this game does not have any purposeful built-in accessibility functions for low-vision or blind users. The general consensus on the play experience is that it's a really nice typing game but the demon (and the accompanying main gameplay conceit of typos coming back to haunt you) can go jump in a lake. One of the many new illustrations added to Tittivillus Teaches Typning: Digital, cel-shaded art of Tittivillus leaning back in a coy pose, showing off his chest of blue fur, pointy ears, spade tail, red-feathered wings, and fancy red kilt with a gold belt. Titivillus is measuring angles between stars with a medieval brass quadrant. Stars sparkle all around him.
