I'm going to guess most Americans haven't spent a lot of time in state of the art manufacturing facilities in Asia.

Some people who tuned in halfway through the show were confused but there's no evidence for any big 'panic'. Newspapers just wrote about it like it was proof radio was dangerous and couldn't be trusted.

They were school kids when they were reading the fanfic 15 years ago. So a bit before gamgergate and Orange is the New Black. Now they're adults. They're in finance and tech and deciding how this whole "AI bubble" thing rolls out.

He just secured a lot of presidential campaign support at the cost of approval with people who already hate him. He only has to be less evil than Trump to get most people to vote for him on election day. He just needs to make sure the DNC picks him

A company called Scott Adams Foods sold a line of frozen burritos in 7-11 gas stations in 1999 called the "Dilberito", pairing vegan cooking and the famous comic character Dilbert. This has led some people to think the Scott Adams of the food company is the creator of Dilbert

When planning my day it's in minutes. When planning my budget it's in miles. Most people default to the one they use more when the context isn't clear.

It's just operant conditioning. You use the same tricks to get a kid potty trained or to do their own homework. Or to potty train your dog

Milo isn't that important. I'd bet some ice officer knew who he was and thought he was a prick. Right wing chuds using power to settle personal beef. Or maybe it was just luck. Couldn't recite the star spangled banner backwards

Basically. Generation only means anything because of its relation to events, fads, and moments from WW2 to Chocolate Rain to the red cups at a pizza hut. It's a word to describe a cluster of human experiences, a rough period of time and/or the people that were shaped by those events

There are no documented instances of a baby being suffocated by a cat. There are cases where dogs smother them though. The cats smother babies myth goes back to the 17th century. Witches and evil cat familiars being blamed for babies dying.

The right doesn't have shame. It's one of the reasons why they win. Most Republicans are immune to scandal. They deny, send their lawyers out to tidy up, and keep going. Bad people make good politicians

It's not that it's a hot take that could only come from the genius of ol Glen. Nobody ignores the rock in their boot for the landside over the horizon. But then we try to convince people to support landslide victims by describing how awful the landslide is and get frustrated when it doesn't work

I think you're ascribing too much active malicious intent. Everyone was moving factories overseas, not just super racists. But fear and discomfort following the civil rights act made tactical looking-away a useful political move that made business owners happy at the cost of a trapped voter base

More people need to go into middle schools and explain that mommy deserves her cancer because she didn't stop a 70 year old millionaire from sabotaging shit 20 years ago. And make sure you tell the kids with chronic conditions that they're in pain because their parents don't love them enough

Americans are aroused by oil, stimulated by war and terrified of arabs. War in the middle east is the equivalent of popping molly, doing a line of powder then downing a bottle of jack

The supreme court ruled that the rez is not entitled to any specific quantity of water despite treaties guaranteeing water. This has been an issue for a while now. For a few years the river has been so low the electricity generated by damns is going down fast

If there's zero chance the Dems can do it then it's fair to call them out for failing to do it. And if they make it worse it's fair to call them out on that too

Last time the Dems touched healthcare it was to temporarily lower prices while tying the health insurance industry into the DNA of the healthcare system. With a plan they borrowed from Republicans. That increased leverage employers have over their employees.

My guess is the GoP loses 2028. Dems fix a few easy things, ignore structural issues. Right unifies under grievance, finds a Trump that can think ahead, does some terror. Dems pass Patriot Act 2.0 - Thiel edition. Right wins in 2032. Your AC has AI in it and you might die in the next heatwave

The past 50 years should have taught Americans that any complaint, protest, letter writing campaign, etc is defeated by one simple trick: Ignoring it. They can just ignore you. They ignored Vietnam protestors for 20 years. A demand without an "or else" is just petulant begging
