I LOVE the train ride between NC and VA. I used to do the Alexandria to Southern Pines route. I never do any of the activities I bring because I'm too busy looking out the window at the scenery, especially the swamps and forgotten old towns.

After Cadabo died, it became harder to respond to faux crises. Nothing feels like it matters, or maybe, I just recognize that most of it is not a life or death issue. Just told a coworker that it might not be a silver lining per se, but at the very least, it feels like mentally taking your bra off.

Right before Lucky died, my midwife asked me to focus on my stress levels, which I absolutely did not do because I chipped a tooth and had my hair falling out by the end of the summer. But fuck it. From now on I'm going to care about this place EXACTLY as much as they pay me to care about it.

Recently been getting Comments™️ at work about my (2 visible) tattoos and weirdly, the length of my hair? There's nothing in the HR handbook prohibiting tattoos or long hair at this job. So obviously, I need more tattoos and to grow my mane out even more. Big chop = temporarily delayed, out of spite.

Ever since I went to Bhutan/India in 2015, I’ve been a devoted instant coffee drinker. The Korean packets get closest to the nutty taste I remember from the Himalayas. Plus I don’t have to worry about buying milk or sweetener. I do not feel shame for this whatsoever. Yum yum, gimme my coffee powder!
