I helped support healthcare for trans patients in a large county PPO in CA. I realize lack of healthcare is often a death sentence. My suggestion would be to go to the candidate's account and express your concerns She and her idiot Dem consultants will see the blowback from their immoral cowardice

I agree. otoh, rights for gay people have thankfully expanded. Fascism tends to destroy all human rights, as we see. And it begins with those seen as most vulnerable, always, right out of the Nazi playbook. My solution is to vote as I can, and fight as I can. I am only one person, and ymmv.

I disagree about that in the US. People are tired of Dems being the 'GOP-light' and standing for nothing. They want candidates who will stand up for human rights will push back against false framing and bigotry. Pols seem to underestimate the number of folks who have trans and LGBTQ loved ones.

There is absolutely no assurance that Dems will win in November. There is gerrymandering, voter roll purges, vote suppression, bot swarms encouraging people not to vote, and legal shenanigans going on atm. I am not sanguine.

I feel for your family in South Carolina; I lived much of my life in the South, and I couldn't take it and moved West. Not going to do oppression olympics, but I am standing up daily for the trans people in my life, and dealing with my own oppression. Voting is power, to me, even with bad choices.

Yes, I completely agree,and in fact I wrote that above! NOW is the time to push back, HARD. I guess that my oppression always pushed me to use my power of the vote, and to push back in every way possible; I just assumed that people would do that. To withdraw without a fight and not vote--not me!

I get that! And I am on the West Coast where I and my loved ones are much more shielded (now); however, we feel the danger, for sure. My guess is that she is going to get ALOT of blowback on that, rightly. Campaign time is when pols often can realize their mistakes. I can't personally save SC sigh

Enjoy your privilege! Women and minorities have had to hold their nose while voting all their lives. Bigots didn't suddenly just appear yesterday. There are thousands of way to support and further trans and minority rights in our lives and country every single day. Not voting isn't one of them.
