comparing the sims 2 maxis skins, oepu's og skins and then my edit of their cc skin for default replacing (made face shadows less intense, changed the eyelids, saturated all the skins, lightened skin 1 and made skins 3 and 4 wayy darker)

okay so i kinda went crazy with my skintone project. I noticed that it was too saturated, so i desaturated it, but i felt like i wanted to desaturate it again so... 90 skintones now, but all the natural skin 8s are pixelated😔so i gotta fix that. gonna assign them values next. #thesims2 #sims2 #WIP

editing and recoloring my favorite sims 2 skin cc, WIP. Still have alot of deadlines irl, but I just finished one major so thought I'd have fun by working on my sims 2. Credit to python/jupyter lol, I started w 4 skintones and the code made it to 30 (now way i'd do this manualy!) #thesims2 #sims

since #sims2 only has 4 skintones, i was able to make a python code that filled in the gaps, so between skintone 1 and 2, it made 1 middle skin, then 2 and 3, it made 3 skintones too, same with 3 and 4. now i have 11 skintones! I want to add darker and lighter shades too! but im so happy this works!

idk if everyone knows this but in the sims 2, you can geneticize cc skin tones, meaning you can set the lightness and the darkness of a cc skin so that the game knows how light or dark it is and it will work w genetics. so the skin tone thing rly isn’t a problem with cc. #sims2

but yeah, working on finishing my default face templates w my custom face proportions. out of the 6 face types, I'm only done with t, c and af. The hard part is also that I want the male and the female faces to not look that different like they do in base game, which is gonna take some time.

i have a custom way of making my sims 2 sims, they have their own proportions (see photos) and it solves the sims 2 long face thing but still keeping the variety.

my old sims 2 medieval neighborhood that I played for a year (4 generations). I stopped playing it bc the family tree became a wreath and I thought that the medieval-same-clothing thing would work, but it just lacked individuality, plus I didn't make my face templates yet so the townies look a mess

hard time deciding if i should stick with the maxis-match face templates or my custom... I know the realistic face templates look better than the long-faced maxis one, but I think the cartooniness has its own charm
