"I hate Velia" you fool you have no idea how good I am at making you fall for the worst people imaginable

I hate it here, as I do everywhere because I am paper-thin skin
stretched over a scaffold of hate. There are a lot of men and their
gazes range from perverse and hungry to empathetic and pitying.
Both make me want to swallow a bullet. Women treat me as they
always have: an honorary member of the team. I know itʼs a voice in
my head that tells me that, the Federation doesnʼt seem to
discriminate like that, but it is a poison without a cure. I must bear it,
like I bear everything else. With faltering dignity.

Torres pushes me against the wall abruptly, and my slight moan
lights up that predatory glint in her eye. “You can sit back and let me
handle things,ˮ she says with a thin smile. “Youʼre far too pretty to
have callouses like this.ˮ
Her hands explore mine, finding the places where my body
betrays me. The underside of my thumb where I push the shells into
the magazine. The skin of my palm worn against the textured grip
and the turn-bolt handle. I hate being reminded of them like this. I
am lesser for bearing the stigmata of labor.

I wonder what would happen if I were to speak. How would this
meeting change if I announced that Victoria Torres is a molester, a
rapist, and that she seemingly has no further ambitions than
ensuring the numbers on her companyʼs spreadsheets go up hand-
in-hand with available victims? I want to tell them to stop ignoring
me. My word is as good as Morianʼs here. I am the voice of the
Necromancer. Pay attention to me. Respect me.

There are scientists, psychologists, hacks, who would attribute
my newest malfunction to some trauma in my youth. Perhaps I
watched the wrong sort of shock video at a crucial point in my
developmental cycle. Or perhaps itʼs just because Iʼm a trans
woman. You hear the stories about what weʼre allegedly into. I think
the reality was that I was always a little wrong in a way I was blind
to, but everyone else saw clearly.

I do not have enough context for the events or familiarity with anyone involved to form an opinion. I deliberately try to keep my nose out of this kind of news. I guess my fear is that this is being done on the back of the other Notable News Event for kicks? To revictimize someone?

I suppose the main thing is that the victim didn't bring it forward, an uninvolved third-party did and I don't quite understand what that is meant to accomplish. I'm not having an opinion on this right now. It's just the thorn stuck in my brain.
