Ah!! I like to make my characters look different from one another and I guess I really did succeed here :) Aside from being Finnish, I also wanted Thierry to come across a little more "everyman" that once you take the time to really look, is fantastically pretty. People seem to vibe with it a lot!

When traveling far, I like to pick up a perfume as a souvenir. In Finland I found this one by a local perfumer and upon first sniff I knew it was Thierry's alternate perfume. Aplomb, January 5.

Also, I showed up for the changing of the guard at the Swedish royal palace by pure accident and they did this in the middle of it. Did you know I fucking love marching bands? What a dream.

I still think about that reddit thread of Finns abroad with a "but how do you survive with no sauna?" thought and the guy that posted in reply, "If i would move somewhere where there is no sauna, there would be sauna after a while." I am already considering how I can fit a sauna into my backyard.

I had about 300 great photos so picking only 12 was troublesome, but I'll leave it at that.

I went to the sauna and it destroyed my life because I'll be pining after it for as long as I live. Also, I'm pretty sure the deep Finnish forest is where any magic left in the world still resides.

As I have mentioned before, comics never was the dream. It wasn't until the last couple years that I realized it was because I hadn't been allowed to. Downforce is in fact, me dreaming for the first time. A future for me, made real. I hope you'll join me for the ride. It's coming from the heart.

Black Peak was some sort of thing that appeared out of nowhere and chewed at me until I made it a reality to get my life back on track, so it was (and still is!) baffling to me that people would line up to buy it. And even love it. So thank you. 500 isn't a lot in publishing, but it is a lot to me.

The final book. 500 copies later, and the last one is going out the door. End of an era. It would've happened much earlier if not for 2020 and everything that happened in my life after that. But I'm here now, and so far beyond what Black Peak was for me, that I'm happy to let it go out of print.

Yes I was about to say, I was hired to remaster some comics and in that case they had nothing but final printed copies. There was a lot of talk about the desired visual outcome. I did test pages where I stripped the original colors to extract the lines and then redid the colors in different methods.

my surgery happened to fix something within my psyche (an unexpected side effect, mind. they found things in there that shouldn't have been) and it made me wonder if I was going to lose whatever seed I had that made my stuff mine. nah, clearly that was an unfounded thought. it's so nice to be back.

So you gotta kinda get a feel for what time period you like to roll hardest and find a ruler that combines their unique unit at that time with a secondary ability that tracks for your style. Ambiorix looked cool because he gets culture from making troops, for example, so it's a two-prong approach

I think for you it would be interesting to try Eleanor because she can do a unique domination strategy by taking over via loyalty pressure rather than troops. Otherwise I play a different ruler every time. I really liked Suleiman (Kanuni) but each ruler's troops peak in a different time period

Oh, it's the opposite for me. They manage to make all the leaders annoying in unique ways that I love to watch each one squirm 😂 I wish I could reduce them to one city and then make them a vassal city-state.
