Might’ve accidentally talked way too much about swords in an interview. But it’s true. I’ve always liked swords. Here’s the one my dad made for me as a kid, when I was only about this big. I painted the blade in sparkly silver nail polish to make it shine.

It's sort of difficult to be genuinely sympathetic nowadays with how everything is. Maybe it's just me but cynicism and pessimism just provided a sense of superiority of being somewhat aware of what happens. That gave a sense of control by proxy.
