Reuters got some of the IPO docs. Anthropic is a total dog of a company. Spent $12.6bn to make $4.6bn in revenue in 2025, $7.33bn of which was compute costs. Operating loss of $8bn. Losses getting worse year over year. Amazing stuff www.reuters.com/business/fin...

Summary
Companies
• Anthropic IPO could value the company at more than $2
trillion
• Anthropic lost $42 billion in 2025
• Al lab spent $7.33 billion on compute and infrastructure last year
• Operating loss widened to $8.06 billion in 2025 from $2.98 billion in 2024
• Execs, industry analysts have expressed concerns over harms of Al tech
Sept 28 (Reuters) - Anthropic is making a massive bet that Al will transform the global economy more profoundly than industrialization, electricity and the internet, according to its IPO prospectus seen by Reuters.
But the cost to get there will be staggering. Anthropic reported a net loss of $42 billion in 2025, and plans to spend $518 billion on cloud, computing and infrastructure obligations in coming year, according to the
prospectus.

I’ve been busy remixing my whole hard disk of The Smoke Cella tracks (some 20+ years old!) which will be collected on five (!) albums which I will be uploading very soon. Watch this space.

Het kwaad van onze tijd in een grafiekje. En reken maar dat voor andere sociale media iets vergelijkbaars geldt, de Russische botnetten zitten ook niet stil.

Moving is stressful. Moving a studio is equal parts frustrating (CABLES) and nerve-wracking (loss & breakage). Roll on Sunday evening. Wish me luck!

A day in the life: I’ve been up since quarter past three this morning. I did my finances around 4. The scissors found my hair around 9 ‘o clock. Built a website till 12. Time for a nap.

S*M*A*S*H were unfortunate to be lumped into the new wave of new wave bollocks peddled by NME & Melody Maker, when in reality they were a visceral, emotional punk band (though punk seems to encompass way too many genres these days). Self Abused is still an amazing record. youtu.be/_mII0jK8xL8

Tried sending a DM on the bird app regarding support for my phone subscription… when pressing send I was prompted to “unlock my account” by selecting an image with matching characters. Now my lengthy DM has disappeared. Fuming.

It was well worth 15 years of corporate brainwashing. That’s how good it was.

Quitting the 9 to 5 job to work in culture is very liberating… I’ve already worked longer hours than I did @ my corporate job. Now if I could make some money too, that would be good. These Haribo won’t pay for themselves.
