While neurologists and specialist nurses play a crucial role in Parkinson's disease treatment, ideal care involves an interdisciplinary team, bringing together therapists, specialists, and loved ones to support the person.

Thanks Alina, and apologies for the late reply. That’s a great question. We will be running some similar analysis to what you suggested in our next work. However, interpreting the outcome remains another challenge, as the field is still debating the link between 1/f and E/I balance 🙈👀

Our works is finally published. In this study, we re-analysed 6 open M/EEG dataset. We found higher beta activity in people Parkinson's compared to age-matched healthy controls, but this differene was not present after subtracting aperiodic activity. Read our work here 👇

It was thought if we knew the brain's state at time T = N, then the state at T = N + 1 could be predicted. But physics says we might not! The question is that if we cannot, then what's next?! An impressive work by some brilliant folks. www.cell.com/trends-open/...

Indeterminism and the physics of open neural dynamics
Neuroscience has long operated under the assumption that the brain is effectively a deterministic system. Developments in the foundations of physics challenge this view. The ‘indeterminism formulation...

No matter how much of their blood the devil drank, he only grew thirstier for it, and the people of this house grew only more resilient. This story continues...

The father had taught them that if the ultimate price of this sacred resistance was death, such a martyrdom would be infinitely more glorious, honourable, and holy than a life dragged out in disgrace under a tyrant's heel. This belief had made them valiant and courageous.

The father had told his daughters and sons the story of the Battle of Karbala, how Hussein, the grandson of Muhammad, and all his family members were killed because they refused to remain silent in the face of oppression, endorse the cruelty of a tyrant, or submit to the arrogant.

Yet, the devil was incapable of comprehending the lessons the father had imparted to his children.

He killed the father of the family and, with boundless cruelty, slaughtered a great number of the household, from the fetus in its mother's womb to the newborn baby, from the young child to the elderly. He drank their blood and danced a vile dance upon their corpses and their spilled blood.

Exasperated by the resistance of this family and its members, the devil felt that only drinking the blood of the children of this house could quench his fury.

The family endured tremendous hardships and difficulties, and once again, another group of its members succumbed to the devil's threats and seductions, turning against their own household.

Through these lies, the devil deceived the other families, managed to convince them that this household was their enemy, urging them to sever all ties with this house and its people to stay safe.

Seeing their unity and love, the devil grew angrier by the day. He decided to portray the members of this family as the greatest threat to other families, whispering to them:

Some of the sisters and brothers fell victim to the devil's temptations and threats; they separated from the family and came to view their own kin as enemies.

For a long time, the devil tried to sow enmity and division among the brothers and sisters of this family, aiming to shatter their household, plunder their wealth, and destroy their love and affection.

The father of the family, however, had taught them the lessons of freedom and liberty. He had taught them that to live a prosperous life without humiliation, one must never submit to the oppression of a tyrant.

The devil, witnessing their love and affection for one another, was furious, and he was deeply angered that they did not fear him and refused to obey him. The devil coveted their home and their wealth, desiring to seize it all for himself.

However, based on Fig. S1, narrower windows like [1–20] Hz or [3–20] Hz might not be ideal for estimating the exponent.

Hamzeh Norouzi @hamzehn.bsky.social · 12/07/2025
It’s possible that using different windows, like [4–X] Hz or [6–X] Hz, or varying the additional parameters, could change the group difference, or not. The reason why the [1–X] Hz window shows a smaller exponent remains uncertain.
110 0
Hamzeh Norouzi @hamzehn.bsky.social · 12/07/2025
Although these additional parameters were kept constant while only the window length was varied, we can’t rule out the possibility that their interaction with window length may influence the results (e.g., [1–X] Hz × peak threshold × minimum peak height, etc.).

Hamzeh Norouzi @hamzehn.bsky.social · 12/07/2025
Thanks Alina. The group difference observed in Fig. S1 might not be solely due to the choice of window length (e.g., [1–X] Hz or [3–X] Hz), but could also involve interactions between the window length and other parameters used in the Specparam model, such as peak threshold and minimum peak height.
