Hi hi #ScribesUnited I‘ve been shopping all day so far (it’s now 2:30pm where I am lol), and stalking people as per instructions on how to write good dialogue (not literally, but kinda), and I probably won’t write much later because I’ll be watching Obsession (pray for me, Im not a horror fan 🥲)

I do that to an extent already, with action scenes and the like, but it’s weirdly hard to visualize conversations and talking. Idk if it’s because I don’t have set voices/dialect picked out for them or smth, but I could try that

That’s a good point. My Mc is a princess, and very prim and proper, so she does tend to speak more formally than the rest, but the others (who live much rougher lives) probably shouldn’t speak the same way as her 🤔

#LitHodgepodge 4 This is just a general question, but how do you write natural sounding dialogue? I feel like all my dialogue sounds very stiff and scripted and you all write dialogue beautifully so tell me your secrets, even the forbidden ones, I will learn dark magic just to write good dialogue

For the most part, I come up with the title before everything else, since I treat my titles as the base plot of the whole story. Like “Dear Knight, Do Not Rescue Me” was the entire premise of the story at one point

#OctoberWorldbuilders Exile has few types of plants, and most of the ones they do have will most likely kill you (or give you explosive diarrhea if u eat it 🤷‍♀️) As for animals, asides from a few vultures, there aren’t any (This is why people are mostly canabalistic there)

She already does embroidery and tapestry weaving, so She would probably enjoy knitting or crochet!

This art is so pretty 🥹 Also snorkeling or diving for Mimi and maybe Kena could try bonsai growing!

Tui and Riu do help with the socializing aspect, though, even if all Tui talks about is how fancy everything is and Riu might just be trying to rob someone. Lilac is once again hiding in a corner.

#OctoberWorldbuilders 3 Most homes in exile are simple tents or forts made from whatever materials they can scrounge up. They use to have supplies shipped from the mainland, so there are a few abandoned houses, most made from rough wood and thatch. Layers of scrap material are added for warmth.
