when The Collector acquired her house, she hated the utterly MASSIVE backyard it had. BUT, after Haam and Maah moved in, she quickly grew to love it, as they'd somehow turned it into a paradise for animals who can't live indoors to hang out :) she still panics seeing a bear at the window tho.

i've yet to reach the actual Dark Arisen area (i'm just doing Lost Rites and Vermund stuff) but all of the DD2 cynics i know have been glowing lately so i guess i've got that to look forward to

Chloe's haunt me. i remember seeing her casual outfit and thinking "what no. that's a mod. that has to be a mod." but it was the launch copy.

it's mentioned offhand that Jurah was Dagda's wife and is the mother to Kalla and Credna but like... the setting's own laws mean that she's related to Dagda by blood. she's not one of Seiros' children but she's not a direct relative of Sothis either, so she's either his sister or his niece.

the game will go "yeah we're not drawing attention to any of the mothers in the Dagdan Pantheon" and the NANOSECOND you realize this means there's some generational inbreeding going on, it goes "okay do you wanna do a scooby doo plot with a scary painting :0" like no man let's back up a little.

lightly worried about the FW writeup not so much for its content but because i fear people will read me nitpicking everything about the game as me being a lorehead, and not me being mad that the game just has no interest in any of its own material and keeps dropping bombs before walking off.

don't worry, if this game had Gundam's gender politics it'd probably be easier to stomach

oh yeah this one. weirdly enough it's a localization hiccup, the JP version is seemingly more on the "joking as an excuse to hide insecurity" side. odd considering they kept a lot of other bisexual/gay moments; in the same route Mu says verbatim "i still love her, but-"

🐰The Ingenious Doll of La Hamcha🐰 @hamirapingpong.bsky.social · 3h

there's this thing FW kept doing where it'd introduce something that's pretty dark or layered for the type of game it is (T for Teen shonen game about arena fights and anime wars) and then move on so fast it felt like it was begging me not to focus on it, but the thing in question was so jarring-

okay i kinda missed out on their supports, what's the beef with leda/olympia?

🐰The Ingenious Doll of La Hamcha🐰 @hamirapingpong.bsky.social · 3h

there's this fucking insane dialogue where Sirocco confesses that he was sent to Kalla's temple as a child which has such jaw-dropping and uncomfortable implications given he's an open sex pest who uses it as a weapon, comes onto Kalla, and also admits he sees her as a mother. like. ?????? HUH

🐰The Ingenious Doll of La Hamcha🐰 @hamirapingpong.bsky.social · 3h

thinking about Leda's route both for the right reasons (exceptionally shitty protagonist who isn't babied but isn't 'fixed' either and gets to be a fucking mess) and also the wrong reasons (what the fuck is going on with the gender roles in Kalla's temple????????????????????????)

Its the trans people, the queers, the women, the BIPOC people around you that get to say whether you are a safe person to be around and not everyone is gonna agree on that. Its a start sure, its nice to see messages of support, but I want to see that actively acted on rather than I reposted an image

Every time I see onebof those “repost if trans people are safe around you” posts I immediately get a little sus. I believe peoples heart is in the right place but no one gets to declare themselves a safe space, its the people around them that dictate that. You can love trans people all you want but…

after a few dives it seems like the new lost rites dungeons in DD2DA are there to guide you towards otherwise easily missable stuff on the overworld, as evidenced by me somehow managing to find one of the very few caves i missed in Vermund
