I'm sorry, T. But remember, just like this shirt (which I have in my closet right now) says, "I [you] have friends everywhere."

Picture of shirt that says in multiple colors and in a cool design: I have friends everywhere. Line is from Andor.

Don't forget to wear your chair pants and comfy shoes!

Image of person from the waist down wearing white pants and a portable chair that is black in color (presumably for maximum color contrast).

"Chairless Chair 2.0: The Chairless Chair by Noonee is a rigid brace that can be activated anytime to lock into place, turning the exoskeleton into a chair. It is meant to change between standing, sitting, and walking within seconds without changing the workstation. The design allows the worker to temporarily sit in an ergonomically favorable position instead of standing. In doing so, the legs are relieved, and a healthy and upright sitting posture is enabled. With the Chairless Chair, work becomes more manageable and healthier during the day and throughout the year."

They're interesting places! And my bad, it's called Salvation Mountain. Here's pics from the mtn.

Plastic-protected sign at Salvation Mountain that says:

Leonard Knight: born 1931
As a boy growing up in Vermont, Leonard Knight dreamed of visiting the California he knew from watching movies. After serving in the army in Korea, he spent a number of years crisscrossing the country, eventually stopping in Nebraska for five years. During this period Knight developed a fascination with hot air balloons and began constructing one from colorful remnant material discarded by a balloon manufacturer. Although the balloon never flew, it now has a permanent home in the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore.

Leonard Knight visited his sister in San Diego a number of times. During a visit in 1967 he discovered God in a life-altering experience. Years later, in 1984, he settled permanently near Niland, CA, 190 miles southeast from Los Angeles, and began creating Salvation Mountain. The mountain is about as tall as a three-story building and as wide as a football field. Colorful decorations and religious texts cover Salvation Mountain. Most prominent is the statement, "God is Love."

Salvation Mountain is molded with adobe clay. Most of the clay and paint Knight uses are donated to him. When he first started working on the mountain, Knight used concrete and stretched it with sand, but the entire artwork collapsed, so he set to rebuilding it with solid clay. Knight uses window putty to shape decorative elements such as flowers. The mountain is constantly changing, due both to Knight's ongoing work and to the elements, including the desert sun. Knight has decorated numerous other objects surrounding Salvation Mountain, including the truck in which he lives. Next to the mountain, Knight is currently building a museum out of hay bales, used utility poles, and found objects such as tires.

Leonard Knight describes his work as a love story: "I painted the mountain because I love God and I love people."

Decorations inside Salvation Mountain: several trophies, a couple of mini paintings of the mountain, and an angel statue. The wall behind it is painted in a lot of different bright colors.

Salvation Mountain itself. Lots and lots of paint. A cross at the top, beneath it it says God is LOVE.

A picture from the yellowbrick road that winds up the front of the mountain to the top. A sign says, Please stay on the yellowbrick road. There are colorful flowers and blue lines mimicking streams of water.

The cigarette, lol. Great pics! These are from a visit to Bombay Beach in September 2012. It was warm, and the fish were ripe. We had beers and grilled cheese sandwiches at the Ski Inn nearby, just like Anthony Bourdain. And, of course, we left a decorated dollar on the wall.

Salton Sea shoreline. Mass of algae bloom and dead fish rotting at the shore, beautiful blue sky above.

Street view of an abandoned home in the former resort town of Bombay Beach at the Salton Sea. Some little scamps have spray-painted "PU$$Y CR1PLED" on the home's last intact front window. The home was originally painted white and has a front porch with a white railing running across width of the house. There's an abandoned mattress and misc. junk in the front yard, and desert scrub brushes scattered about. In the background, to the right of the house, you can see power lines and other abandoned homes.

Close-up of the "PU$$Y CR1PLED" graffiti on the front window. There's an old armchair below the window on the porch. It is grey in color.

Looks like you're right - I just saw the formal statement from his husband on another skeet. Awful.

Statement from Tristan Kern de Gonzales
Husband of Jonathan Joss

My husband Jonathan Joss and I were involved in a shooting while checking the mail at the site of our former home. That home was burned down after over two years of threats from people in the area who repeatedly told us they would set it on fire. We reported these threats to law enforcement multiple times and nothing was done.

Throughout that time we were harassed regularly by individuals who made it clear they did not accept our relationship. Much of the harassment was openly homophobic.

When we returned to the site to check our mail we discovered the skull of one of our dogs and its harness placed in clear view. This caused both of us severe emotional distress. We began yelling and crying in response to the pain of what we saw.

While we were doing this a man approached us. He started yelling violent homophobic slurs at us. He then raised a gun from his lap and fired.

Jonathan and I had no weapons. We were not threatening anyone. We were grieving. We were standing side by side. When the man fired Jonathan pushed me out of the way. He saved my life.

Jonathan is my husband. He gave me more love in our time together than most people ever get. We were newlyweds. We picked Valentines Day. We were in the process of looking for a trailer and planning our future.

He was murdered by someone who could not stand the sight of two men loving each other.

I was with him when he passed. I told him how much he was loved.

To everyone who supported him, his fans, his friends, know that he valued you deeply. He saw you as family.

My focus now is on protecting Jonathan’s legacy and honoring the life we built together.

If your concern is how someone coped with trauma or how loudly they speak when recounting injustice and being ignored by authorities then you never truly cared about my husband.

Jonathan saved my life. I will carry that forward. I will protect what he built.

Tristan Kern de Gonzales

What an assortment of sweet kitties! They look about 7-8 weeks old, perhaps - hard to tell from a picture but awwwwww!!! We just adopted two babies ourselves from a feral litter.

Sawyer, a ginger cat, looks at camera while Dee, a grey tabby/tortoise cat, plots her next attack. My toes photobombed the pic.

I met the sweetest little guy Sunday on a walk...but he was very sick and I had to say goodbye a little while ago. R.I.P. Boogie Boy, I won't forget you and your sweetness. I don't know how anyone could have abandoned you. 💜
