My #HalvarMechs Daddy Parole for July was last weekend. A 6hr grind with a full combined-arms batttallion on the table, we reenacted the Battle of Acamar in Operation Guerrero (the Joshua Reprisals). Our team lost to guided support fire (before rules nerf), but had fun in the city center mosh pit!

Now, however, Barron's Bandits are down a headless heavy mech and Bullhorn is in ICU for a few months. I'm going to replace her with Victor as a cheap and mobile all-ranges brawler. My market rolls were good enough we'll come out about even from this disaster. Here's hoping for a better July🤞🏻. /5

The end of June was Round 6 of the #ForceCommandPrimer campaign and, honestly, a waste of my monthly Daddy Parole. I was heartened by opponent's conversation griping about min-maxers, so left my best units out for a narrative game... then got curb-stomped by cheesy min-maxing. #HalvarMechs 1/

July of 3056 saw a disasterous delegation of responsibility for Barron's Bandits. Newly minted pirate queen Na'Teisha Barron and her paramour, Mitts, took a holiday (and their half of the unit's BV) while leaving Bullhorn in charge of the remaining heavy lance.

Bullhorn took it upon herself to lead the veteran *Archer*, *Crusader*, and *Spector* on a "milk run" of hacking a FedCom facility's sensor relays and destroying their research outpost from the cockpit of her trusty royal *Black Knight*.

What she did not count on was the highly mobile Elite 13th RCT Cadre protecting the site. With Demolishers closing off the east, the 13th used high-speed Harassers and infernos to immobilize the Bandits' two laser boats (and most of the Bandits' firepower), Bullhorn barely escaped with her life as two Elite *Javelin* pilots poured laser fire into her cockpit.

The battle was over as soon as it began, with one mech shutdown and another headless. The FedCom commander smugly offered the remaining pair of mechs ransom terms to collect their lance leader, with zero objectives met, only minutes into the fight.

Returning from her lovers' getaway, Auntie was furious. Absent for one week, she returns to millions in ransom and repairs, plus her second-in-command in critical condition.

I stayed up way too late and tried my second ever attempt at panel painting a #Battletech miniature (we don't speak of the first). I've always hated painting, how imprecise and inconsistent it feels, because I struggle to control pressure. BUT This came out decent! #HalvarMechs

Keystone to our success continues to be Auntie's Highlander as a hidden unit. What started as a Drax meme has become an absolute menace, as the mercs rushed a Hunchback straight ahead and it was deleted in one combined salvo, with the pressure never letting up. 2/

Normally, folks ask what I did on a long weekend and I restrain the urge to snap at them. Extended breaks in routine disregulate the goblins. This weekend has actually been nice and I get to top it off with an all-afternoon #HalvarMechs slugfest. 33k of battle value on one table. Much-needed win 🦾

**Caron's Redeemers vs Barron's Bandits**

The Bandits, high off their first successful pirate mission and sporting some fancy new clan gear, got cocky and raided a FedCom company establishing a base on Risin. Intending to **Escape with the Goods** and **Discourage Pursuit**, Barron's six former ComGuards encountered stiff resistance from two lances of Fedrat veterans with a grudge against pirates. Both sides were mauled, including a Davion *Warhammer* exploding to a vicious rear assault from Auntie's new *Highlander IIC* and a one-legged *Blackjack* jumping to safety. An incredibly unlucky Bandit *Thug* rolled triple 2s to knock herself out less than 30 seconds into the raid, and the Redeemers doled out nearly 900 points of damage, forcing the pirates to abandon their supply run to save their own skins. In a move of pettiness, the Bandits **Cleared the Zone** on their way out, abandoning the unconscious *Thug* pilot to be curb-stomped by a trio of fast-moving scout mechs. We do not yet know the fate of the pilot or mech. Will she "die from combat injuries" during interrogation? We'll have to see how far the Davions' so-called morals go...

Barron's Bandits received a ... discrete offer from a local landlord. Seems some Kurita unit has been making trouble for the landlord's business interests. The mission was straight-forward: Kill the interlopers. Put the snakes in their place (*Annihilate*) and take out their commander (*Priority Targets*).

Shirou's Samurai were likewise given a simple task by their Dragon masters- make a show of force by marching their heavy lance through the landlord's territory (*Guantlet*, *Forced March*) while *Discouraging Pursuit*.

Unfortunately for Shirou, Na'Teisha Barron's unit practiced ambushing Clans on Tukayyid. A slow-advancing line of heavy brawlers concentrated fire on the lead *Lancelot*, with Auntie's camouflaged *Highlander* popping out of a stand of woods to create a wall of armor the Samurai couldn't break through. A pair of reckless scouts rushed in for rear shots, luring Shirou's *Battlemaster* out from behind intervening heavy woods. The Samurai were given an ultimatum of leaving the assault mech on the field as a war prize or face destruction, but they attempted an orderly, honorable retreat... costing the commander his ride and pride.

With half the Kurita force down, including the *Priority Target*, Barron's Bandits let the remainder retreat with their commander in a medivac, and returned to base with a handsome 7mil paycheck (tax free, of course).

For March, I was paired with a fun guy who had been (uncharacteristically, overly) successful in his first two missions as a "ragtag" Kurita company. To give himself a harder objective, he limited himself to a single heavy lance instead of all 10 Succession War -era mechs. 3/

Barron's Bandits are my campaign pirate demi-company. 6 former ComGuards in a stolen Confederate-C dropship looted from the bloodbath of Tukayyid. Barron led her well-trained, but green, troops through the largest battle of the Inner Sphere in centuries. 2/

I have finally joined a D&D group. I was worried, as they are veteran players and I need everything spelled out for me in painful detail. My tour guide gnome -turned- Vengeful Paladin unionized the tavern bouncers before we even started, & cultists in the first Level. "Luv, you fit right in."

Last weekend, I dove into the new/old passion with my first Battletech convention, called KSAGG. I was fortunate to be (mostly) tabled with other folks who were there for a silly, fun time. Only one sweaty try-hard. Needs way more melanin and estrogen, but was still fun.

In a true week-of-weeks, I recieved word from my old NerdHerd yesterday. The Game Club I created and nurtured for a decade, that beautiful intersection of geeks, unhatched autists, budding progressives, and queer/ally kids... is dead. Disbanded barely over 2 years after I left, for lack of support.

It took a month of off-and-on motivation to finish the last bits, but all #HalvarMtG is packed away after donating and condensing. Hopefully I'll feel the spark again some day.

Listening to <redacted> podcast on the way to school today, I yelled/happy-flapped in the middle of traffic hearing <redacted> describe, but not openly proclaim, that they Figured It Out. I've been waiting for YEARS, knowing they need & deserve the other community they unknowingly belong to.
