Also what helps me is having people around! When I study with people, it makes me feel less alone, even when I study at home. Same with work, to a lesser degree. Seeing that stuff is moving is really helpful.

what helped me at one point was lowering the stakes. No, my life wouldn't be over if I dropped out, but it would teach me a sad lesson about what I am capable of. I imagined it, I really didn't want that Halo to be me one day. I made it more about protecting myself.

A lot of the times I feel like people are trying to make me feel scared of upcoming events, because of this assumed tolerance. Maybe in hopes of getting even the disinterested to treat it serious? In the process, we more sensitive to stress and pressure get hurt, which is almost treated as normal.

The mindset that anxiety = motivation, at the cost of your wellbeing is counterproductive. By treating important stuff as do or die, you end up turning them into monsters. The payoff isn't good, you'll hesitate more to begin. The fear of messing up a term takes away the energy you'd use to study.
