We got it as soon as we could. I never got it from my wife luckily. I got it from our daughter who brought it home from camp in 2021 & then again in 2024, likely at an NWSL game. Fortunately, I was vaccinated so mine wasn’t too bad.

I’m in NorCal & it wasn’t quite as bad for us up here but still bad enough. My ER nurse wife wore her gear as she should & still got it 4-5 times. The 1st 2 times were long & scary. She now gets migraines & never had one prior.

My renter just moved out this week. We knew there had been a DV incident months ago & she got a restraining order. When we saw the evidence like handprints on the window & broken screen from his break-in & a kicked in bedroom door, it was chilling. So glad they’re ok & getting away from him.

Yeah, my first police agency more than 30 years ago stopped issuing metal flashlights because even though it was against policy/training to use them as a weapon, some officers were still tempted so they removed that temptation by issuing plastic ones. They approve of this behavior.

I’ve seen too much violence in my life thanks to many years in both the military & law enforcement to be able to enjoy movies with blood & violence in them anymore, but I did go see it with my family. While I didn’t enjoy the violence, I found the acting & cinematography incredible.

What about all of the water they use? It doesn’t matter how much we charge them, when they use up all of the water in an area with insufficient water to begin with, it doesn’t give us more water to drink or give our livestock or grow our crops. We are going to be fighting that issue soon.

I listened to him and all of the other Dems in the race last August except Porter who didn’t come to the Equality CA Leadership Summit. After he spoke, I just wanted a shower. I was super impressed with Becerra, humble and spoke intelligently about policy & protecting civil rights.

Yes, that is included in LOAC training. Troops are supposed to be able to discern whether an order they are given complies with all of those laws or not, like the fact that bombing noncombatants is illegal.

An order isn’t really “declared” unlawful. I’m a 26-year veteran & a retired Lt Col. Every military member goes through annual Laws of Armed Conflict (LOAC) training to help them be able to determine when they are given an order if it complies with the law & rules of engagement.
