Hey @dbourget.bsky.social, why do you keep ignoring my complaints to PhilPapers about platforming a racist? I guess the difference between a historian like me and a philosopher like you is I actually care about real harm in the world. You just "think" about it.

I hope for a $100B judgement against Microsoft and OpenAI to go to the NYT, which I hope will devalue their companies and give journalism a new lifeline. All models trained on the intellectual property of the NYT and thousands of authors whose works (like mine) were scraped should be deleted.

Most of us feel sometimes like, "I wish everybody would like me, but I guess I'm not everyone's cup of tea." I strongly suspect that people like Nathan Cofnas and Richard Hanania are able to live with themselves because most of the people they've ever met hate them, and they accept it.

Any white academic who posts something like "I disagree with Nathan Cofnas but..." should immediately resign in disgrace. And if not, should be permanently shunned from polite society.

Nathan Cofnas is hoping that Trump can bully Belgium over "academic freedom" the way he bullies US states (and the way Vance bullies Europe over immigration).

Can we please never forget, even as @theatlantic.com continues to post disgusting articles dancing on Jason Arday's grave, that in 1971 they gave a platform to a then-obscure Richard Herrnstein who later went on to do incalculable damage with The Bell Curve? "The Atlantic: Racist All Along!"

David Sepkoski @hallucigenia.bsky.social · 20/08/2026
It speaks! And uses the term "logic" in a way that doesn't apply to logic. Also, this troll thinks that by invoking a person hated on Bsky he can deflect that hate away from himself. You know what to do, folks.

Sorry I don't have a gift link, but you don't want to read this anyway. The Atlantic--which published Richard Herrnstein's (of later Bell Curve "fame") article about Black IQ--seems desperate to jump on the anti-Arday bandwagon. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0...
