I stopped using my wheelchair a few months before that reboot released and it was the first time I'd seen anyone address the grief and fear that came with that. Thank you.

Fun fact: I grew up two houses up the street from this guy. That was filmed behind his parents' house and I have screamed in those same woods. It did not help.

What Feeds Below is a mesmerizing new ecohorror from Tatiana Schlote-Bonne. You won't be able to look away from this one. Everyone has a phobia. Whatever yours is, you're sure to encounter it in The Void. The darkness is not empty. It's hungry. Full review writing.hallidaynelson.com/what-feeds-b...

This year’s #BannedBooksWeek coincides with ALA’s official 150th anniversary. To mark the occasion, ALA has released a list of the 150 most challenged books documented from 1990, when ALA's Office for Intellectual Freedom began tracking book challenges, through 2025. ala150.org/150books

Sometimes, after reading a historical fiction that takes a lot of liberties, I feel the need to listen to a meticulously researched non-fiction text about the same event or period. It soothes my nerd brain.

Our indie bookstore last week was Manchester by the Book in Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA! It feels much bigger on the inside than it looks like from the outside, and it's remarkably accessible for all the twists and turns through the shelves. It also has gorgeous murals! #booksky #indiebookstore #ma

Definitely sea birds. They can give deeper than most because their feathers don't have the same coating as most other birds, so between hunts you'll see them holding out their wings to dry looking like Dracula with his cape.

Agreed. At the very most, one fierce but brief kiss. I strongly prefer it when authors place the spicy scene the night before the big battle, for instance. I also really love when they fall into each other's arms after, overwhelmed with relief that the other is still alive. *Swoon*

I am not ace but I have definitely never felt that way while in a dangerous situation. In fiction it really only makes sense to me if it's like a "I can't let one of us die without you knowing I love you, but one or more of us might die here, sooooo..."

Much as we love bookshops, they need more than love to keep going. A bookshop can be the centre of a whole community. Bookshops support authors; organize events. A thriving bookshop teaches the next generation that literacy matters. So don't just love your bookshop: actually buy books there.

Me to others: It's ALWAYS okay to DNF a book for any reason whatsoever. Reading should be enjoyable, and forcing it risks burnout. You won't leave a positive review if you struggled to the end. ANY REASON IS FINE. Me alone: Thinking about reading another page makes me want to cry BUT... #booksky

It makes sense for New England though. We are in a RUSH don't have time for all those extra letters. Heck, we'll just call it "Dunky's" because "Dunkin Donuts" takes too long and we've got totally-still-yellow lights to run.
