Same 😂 Two guys stopped replying after 'hey, did you know that ducks sleep with one eye open?' but the third valiantly stayed until 'hey, did you know that the hooded pitohui is the world's most poisonous bird? It actually has neurotoxin in its feathers 🥰'

Reposting this without the typo because I'm still thinking about it 💜
'Someone could call themselves a hero and still walk around killing dozens. Someone else could be labeled a villain for trying to stop them. Plenty of humans were monstrous, and plenty of monsters knew how to play at being human.' - from Vicious by V.E. Schwab

oo, I didn't know that new tracks were out! But I just listened to Evergreen Misery - LOVED the lyrics. When I initially heard them I thought they were about a user in a romantic relationship, but then I read that they're actually about story vamps so now I connect with them even more 😅
“The lyrics are a reflection of some energy vampires I’ve had in my life. People I let into my life who tried to borrow elements of my story as their own, knowing they didn’t experience the pain my art stems from. There’s a dark humor in that for me, this idea of ‘take what you want from me, my misery is bottomless’ — which is a bit dramatic, but that’s how it felt.”

Yeah I get that - I visited the most haunted lighthouse in Canada once and I also got no vibes 🫤 (BUT surprisingly there was a nude beach very close to it, so it's possible that I was just distracted 😅)

YES this is exactly how I feel too! What plot structure are you using? I found this one on Karen Woodward's site and I really love it; it was a total game-changer for me 💛
Four Acts In Point Form:

Act One (first 25%)
- The inciting incident occurs (/the hook).
- Establish the (initial) stakes.
- The lock in: something happens to up the stakes just before we break into Act Two.

Act Two (25% to 49%)
- The hero comes up with a plan, a way to solve the problem or a way to approach the problem. If this is a murder mystery, it is a way to find out who is the murderer.
- Put the plan into action.
- The plan fails. Everything the hero and his companions thought they knew was wrong. Back to square one.

Act Three (50% to 74%)
- The hero and his/her companions tries to recover from the calamitous events of Act Two. They try to come up with a new approach.
- Everything keeps getting worse for the hero and his companions. The opposing force increases.
- The stakes are raised.
- By the end of Act Three it seems as though the hero has lost.

Act Four (75% on)
- New plan
- Solve the problem.
- Attain the goal.
- By the end of Act Four equilibrium is restored and we're back to the Ordinary World of Act One, ready for another adventure.

Hey #writesky let’s take a little walk to a haunted beach together 🥰 First we walk through this marsh… (1/4)
A boardwalk zigzagging through a marsh at sunset. In the distance are rolling hills covered in pine trees. (Don't fall into the marsh, Smeagol isn't here to pull you out 😅)We're still walking, and to the right is a small forest on an island. An old fellow once told me that the island is home to some Swamp Soggers (octopus-like creatures with human heads) but you shouldn't believe him because everyone knows that the Swamp Soggers actually live in the water 🐙Now we've left the boardwalk and we're heading up a little sandy path that cuts between some pines 💕

I adore that one 😂💕 This series caught my eye first I see it as the same rock slowly understanding the gravity of a situation, screaming about it and then embracing villainy to cope 👀
A series of 5 rocks with various anthropomorphic 'facial' expressions in a glass display case. The first rock looks like it's contemplating a bad situation, the second looks like it suddenly realizes the bad situation was worse than it thought and the third looks like it's confused about how the situation got so bad in the first place. The fourth rock, which appears to be screaming very loudly, seems unable to handle how bad the situation actually is, and the fifth rock appears to be smiling deviously. It's possible it's embraced villainy to cope.

I should have said beavers *can* weigh up to 108 lbs. I think an average-sized beaver is more like 65 lbs 😅 Looking this up sent me down a beaver rabbit hole, though. Apparently there was a giant beaver that could weigh up to 300 lbs 👀

Thing 10: Obscure folklore! Like today I learned about oomancy, which is essentially divination using eggs. And about Karin Svensdotter, who stood trial in 1656 for potentially having a relationship with the king of the faeries 🧙‍♀️🥚👑🧚‍♂️ #folklore #writingcommunity
Cultures around the world, from Southeast Asia to Latin America, have relied on eggs to unscramble the mysteries of the future. One method, described by Hale as the “Venus glass,” may have its roots in Scotland. The concept is simple: take a glass of warm water, slowly pour in a raw egg white, and watch what shapes form as the proteins denature. Much like tea leaf-reading, or tasseomancy, the resulting shapes offer clues as to whom you might marry or how you might die.

“If you see that the egg whites kind of look like a plow or a horse, your husband might be a farmer,” Muise explains. “Or if it looks like a fortress, your husband might be a soldier, or if it looks like a boat, your husband might be a fisherman.” (from Atlas Obscura) In 1656, Karin Svensdotter stood trial in the southern Swedish village of Sävsjö on an unusual charge: fornication with supernatural beings. Specifically, the court was investigating the young housemaid’s claims that she had a relationship with the King of the Fairies. (from Atlas Obscura)
