A vertical, scenic shot of a calm Kearney Lake during a bright day with a blue, cloud-streaked sky. In the center of the lake, a small rocky island holds a single, tall, slender pine tree with a few low-lying reddish bushes at its base. The tree and island cast a perfectly clear, long reflection onto the glassy, mirror-like surface of the water. In the foreground, dark, textured granite bedrock frames the bottom of the shot, while a distant treeline and subtle hints of buildings are visible along the far shore.Wide shot of Flat Lake in the Halifax Backlands under a vast, cloud-streaked blue sky. In the foreground, a single, smooth boulder sits partially submerged in the calm, reflective water. Across the lake, the distant shoreline features a unique barrens landscape with low-lying green shrubs, exposed granite bedrock, and a scattering of sparse, thin trees left behind by past forest fires.A wide, scenic shot taken from a weathered wooden boardwalk leading toward a rustic wooden park bench, which faces away from the camera. The bench looks out over a calm, blue ocean bay dotted with small, rocky islands and low-lying green headlands. Thick, vibrant green bushes and coastal shrubs line both sides of the boardwalk under a bright blue sky filled with soft, wispy clouds.

Green grass, trees, park benches, and a stone retaining wall line the coast, with a foggy shoreline visible across the water. The text "Sir Sandford Fleming Park" is written across the sky in a white serif font. The top and bottom borders are decorated with vibrant, stylized folk art illustrations of multi-colored butterflies, moths, and floral patterns.

I went most of my life without even knowing we had bright yellow birds here. Now they're regulars in my yard. Cool to watch them transition from their bland winter grey to bright yellow this time of year. The feeder definitely sparked my newfound interest in birds. Great gift from my sister!

Thank you for the overwhelming community response, and importantly, the interest in putting together a new board to manage the BLT Rails to Trails. The only championship I ever won was under Coach Tanner. Winning isn't the only thing, but it's the goal. Getting there has many paths, & Coach Tanner led us down the right ones. Rest in peace, Coach.
"The Citadel Football Community is deeply saddened by the passing of Coach Mike Tanner.

In 54 years of coaching football between QEH, and Citadel, Coach Tanner has coached his teams to 40 Provincial Championship appearances, winning a total of 30 between both schools. During this time, he has coached players who have gone on to win a Super Bowl, countless Grey Cups, Vanier Cups, numerous U-Sport All-Canadians and more. Also a Nova Scotia Sports Hall of Fame inductee in 2009 and recipient of the first NFL Canada’s Coach of the Year Award, Coach Tanner built an incomparable resumé as a coach.

Accolades aside, Coach Tanner’s biggest achievement has been the 1000s of lives he has positively impacted over the years through his volunteerism and his invaluable impact on Football in Nova Scotia. Football would not be where it is in this province without his commitment and contributions to the sport.

Our families, football program, and football community are eternally grateful for Coach Tanner’s immeasurable contributions to youth sport in Nova Scotia. The Citadel High Football Team offers our deepest condolences to Coach Tanner’s family and countless friends and colleagues. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone as we remember Coach Tanner.

Rest in Peace Coach T."
